My Collection

Hello everyone--no, don't run from the noob-.

Thought I should share some of my creations with you. :)

Here's an alethiometer (a fictional item used to tell the truth from Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series). Made from around the house items.

Anchor pendents. In His Dark Materials the anchor symbol on the alethiometer is the sign of hope. Made from clay and acrylic.

Version two of my alethiometer:

Another alethiometer with actual movement. Made with an tin, clock hands, and a clock mechanism inside.

Glad you finally made it here! Since you have made things from books and movies I love, how can I help but not find it (and you) cool!

The clock alethiometer is great! Is it heavy?

Welcome to the board!

Thanks very much all!

Juno, the clock alethi is heavier than the first alethiometers. It doesn't feel like solid gold but it has a comfortable weight.

Has anyone seen Pan's Labyrinth? I may be making some props from it. Great movie.

Yeah I was going to say you need to talk to Juno... but alas she has already found you! You deffinately need to check out some of her props! :cool

Trust me, Oldken, I have seen her props. She is very talented, no? :)

And I finished the Pan's Labyrinth Key I had been working on.

Didn't have a great reference picture to work with but I'm not complaining, I still like it.

If you haven't seen (or read if you don't speak Spanish and had to revert to the subtitles like me) then I suggest you get a move on because it just so happens to be a very creative and beautiful film. Great for any artist with a bit of a macabre side...

If you have seen it I'd love to hear your opinions!

Ah-just one more thing-if you happen to make some of the other props from this movie, which I strongly encourage you to do because they're quite intriguing (i.e. the knife!), please be sure to let me know.

Hi, I'm new here, but I designed the original wand tutorial on dadcando and wondered if you wanted to email me a couple of pictures of your excellent wand so that I can put them up on line there with all the others I have been sent. my email is c.barnardo@btinternet.com. Cheers

Welcome! I've forwarded your tutorial to everyone I know. You really did a good job.

I've thought I already emailed them to you, before I joined the RPF actually. I'll be happy to send them again though.

AHH! Sorry to make such a huge deal out of this, but I just go a real camera! I've been using a web cam for all of these props show but not anymore! It's a Kodak Z650, 6.1 pxls.

And it's all mine.

Actually I have to share with my mom but anywho...

I got it brand new from a local pawn (pwn) shop for half it's original price. :cry I'm so happy. :love
