It looks pretty good so far, you will need first put a light coat of primer on what you have bondo and then sand it smooth, add another very thin layer of bondo, coat it in a different color of primer and sand down until you start seeing your first primer color. That should help you smooth it out and level the whole piece out.
As an answer about fixing piece of your helmet if you cut to much off or break a piece, take it easy, get some more card stock, glue the piece back together and then resign and fiberglass those piece again. I know it takes a while (I've been working on mine for about 6 months
, slow sanding) but it will work. Just don't give up and keep on trucking
