My Boromir Shield, Gandalf the Grey Staff and more from LOTR

My LOTR collection is pretty big, but this is the item I'm most proud to own. It is Boromir's shield that came from Weta via United Cutlery then via Kit Rae. I was VERY lucky to be in the right place at the right time to acquire this. It's really quite something.
And, since I've seen a couple of threads on this piece, I thought I'd post my NC Gandalf the Grey staff next to my UC Gandalf the White staff. Please don't hate me.

No, unfortunately I do not. But I do have the UC sword and the horn from SDC, so together they all make a pretty nice assembly (which I have not taken a picture of yet due to the shield being in storage.)

Aaaargh! What I would've given for reference shots from that when I made mine...This was a tough item to research and reverse engineer.

Well, about a year and a half ago Kit posted on another forum that I visit and he said he had some things from Weta that he wanted to sell to serious collectors only...so I sent him a message and he told me what he had available. I jumped at the chance when I saw the shield was available. Within a week I had paid for the item and received it.

I have seen your work, and you did absolutely AMAZING, no doubts whatsoever!!!

My shield is made of rubber (strap is leather and metal) and was either one of the last pieces or the last piece made before the mold fell apart.

That shield is great. Would make for a nice display with my Horn of Gondor.

I've yet to track down a Grey staff as well. I knew Hecubus would see this!

I'm glad I scooped up the Gandalf the Gray when they first came out.
MY white whale now is the 2nd age Gondorian shield with banner!! Those also seem to have disappeared. :unsure

That shield is fantastic, Arwyniel! If you ever get it out of storage I would love to see more pictures.

Same with the horn, if possible. I'd love to see someone offer a run of these, as it seems like it wouldn't be a terribly difficult project but would look great on display. If I had even a hint of talent, I'd try it myself. :lol

I've attached some pictures of the horn as well as pictures of the Lothlorien bow I sculpted. A bower made the bow, but I sculpted all of the designs on it. I'm not nearly as talented as folks around here, but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

(I also will be selling a different Horn of Gondor once I'm able to post in the junkyard, so stay tuned!)

I bought it on ebay. Some sites used to sell it directly...but that was many many years ago. I think it retailed for around $400 to $500. It's branded New Line Cinema on the inside, but I don't know who manufactured it.

Dont understand why UC isnt going to make a new run of the gandanf the grey staffs. They maked a new run of the white staff ans you can get sarumans staff also if yiu search the web a little bit, but nowhere you can get this damn the grey staff...

I would stop every project, and start to make a gandalf costume right now, if I could get one of the staffs.

I love that character and his costume...

UC never made the Gandalf the Grey staff. Noble Collection did.
