If I would have known how much work this thing needed, I never would have bothered, I plan to get Sarges when he completes it anyway(so hurry up Sarge
). I am happy with how it turned out, but it needed alotta work! I split it up the back, almost all the way to the faceplate, spread it apart(because only a child could get their head it that thing), filled it in with a piece of sheetmetal and quicksteel putty, sanded, added texture(with Elmers glue
). I added height to point on faceplate. I made the eye holes sharper and more symmetrical. I heated up the helmet and moved cheek pieces closer together and nose piece closer to face. I also did minor sanding and filing/straightening edges to the whole helmet basically. I painted it with Design Master premium bronze, it looks great, not "glittery" like some metallic paints. I plan to do some weathering. Let me know what you guys think. Bill
