Hello there, i've completed this costume in two weeks for a big convention here in Italy. I know there are many mistake but overall it's a nice costume... i have to improve the mask (i ordered the neca one but still has not arrived) the pants, i have to make lattice feet and hands, i have to fit the armor better... well the only things that are allright are the swords :)

I also realized both my friend's shields, swords, spears and brooches and painted every part of the armor. I also helped my friend with her Gorgo costume (she's the one on the left) in the next picture.

how do you like the job on the shield? It's made out of wood for the base, shaped foam for the interior and a layer of thin pvc thermoformed on it.

Nice work on all counts. Love the Gorgo dress. My fave of the queen's costumes from the movie. First time I've seen a chariot strap used in film, and it was a bit of a costume orgasm for me as a costumer.

Hey Mr S.
Is that Lucca Comics?
Great work on those costumes!;)
Splendido lavoro "fiocco di neve"!:D

That's Lucca Comics & Games indeed... thank you all boys... that secret move is very usefull! :lol

What did you do for the shoulder armor, that was the part that was giving me the most trouble when I was looking at building this costume.

First off, Excellent Job!! That is one killer Immortal.

To add to the list of questions how did you do the whole Immortal? I am mostly curious about the shoes since I need those for a different costume. Yeah, I need a costume that involves gray shoes/boots I am a weird one. Also a little help on that Queen Gorgo farwell dress would be most excellent. Helps to get the wife involved. Take your time, but we all would love to hear how you did this.

Well i'll try to answer to all your question (but forgive my english!)

I started with the arms and legs armor, sheets of black floor rubber (you should use leather of course), i drilled all the holes and i used maybe 10 meters of string (you start with the string from the hole of the lower part, go up, turn at the top and go back down and you do it for 4 columns each armor).
For the chest armor i used real steel, 2mm thick, which i found abandoned near a construction site. as for the other armor, holes and string.
then i made a kind of vest which goes on your chest and in two parts on your shoulder. i used again black rubber but leather is a better choice, drilled the holes and knitted everything with strings.
for the forearms and shins i used the inside of a bicyce wheel (the tube where you put air) cut in two parts and then rolled on me.
for the shoulder i used a piece of wood cut like an half moon and some thick black foam (the kind you use at the gym for the exercise on the floor). there are two layers of foam that are hotglued togheter and on the wood, and there is an additional layer hot glued made from the same black rubber as before. They hold on with strings going from one armpit to the other and passing through the holes on the piece of wood.
The shoulders are quite poor in quality and movie accuracy anyway and they are the parts that need most improovements.

the feet are the best parts :lol i was wearing one pair of socks with a piece of sole cut to the shape of my foot plant covered with two other socks (the external one grey, therefore the color of my feet). The two outer socks eventually got destroyed at the end of the day :lol
I came up with this idea at the very end because when i already was at the convention i still didn't know how to cover my feet!

everything is holded up using strings and stripes of fabric.

For Gorgo, we just took a long piece of fabric and folded it from the back on the belly to the breast. The two pieces on the breast are sewn to a fabric strip that goes around the neck, but you cannot see it since it is covered with the leather strip (made from two belt attached togheter) and hotglued to it. Add another belt on the belly and fold the cotton on the underware on the back and that's pretty much everything. She also has the wolf thoot mad from clay, ornaments made from copper sheets and her hair are rolled with thin leather stripes.

Well guys, hope that helped, and thank you for the feedback!

Thanks for the run down! I don't know if I will ever do the immortal, but I will take some of the techniques you used. I think the rubber mats, instead of leather, is a good idea. You are hot gluing the wooden half moons to the layered rubber mats. I don't think I want to hot glue anything to leather. then again it did work for the Gorgo dress.

For the shoes/boots looks like some rubber monster feet or just some tabis are in your future. Just my opinion.

Gorgo dress looks amazing and I will have to venture down this road and make one for the Mrs. What fabric are you using? Sounds like there is some cutting and sewing is certain places can you elaborate on that? I hate to beat you with these questions, but I my wife will be participating in her first Con this next year and I since I have enough time to work on it to make it right I'd like to get all the info I can.

Sweet costume! I was pacing the floor trying to decide to go forward with this one and after seeing yours, I will. We need more immortals so any advice would be great!

today the NECA mask arrived... it find it quite big, but afterall it has the right proportion from the movie. I definitely have to put some stuffing on my shoulders

What a great looking costume. Everyone looked great, and looks like you had a fun time. Keep up the good work.
