My 1966 Batman Replica costume and Bat Bomb

Quick2

I have already posted pics of my wife and I in our Bat Costumes. So I thought I would share the one with my Bat Bomb Prop. With me is Richard Hatch of Battlestar Galactica. Enjoy. Yes the Bomb prop is very popular especially when I run around with it . LOLOL.

Though your costume ROCKS...I have to say that, that is the most odd photo. 1966 Batman handing an aging Apollo the Batbomb and pointing at the camera. All that is missing is having Gary Coleman humping your leg...

Whatcha Talkin bout Willis....... Gary Coleman was behind my back hiding with fear

The Break down on Bat suit is :
Cowl is made by Will Reeb of 1966 Batman Message Board.
Cape and trunk and Gloves by a Costume maker.
Chest Emblem--Chuck Williams
Belt--Costume maker.
Boots --Duran Boots. (Maker of Adam West Boots from Show)
Undersuit--ordered them White supplex and then a member from 1966 Batman Message Board (Darren) dyed to match color from show

Bat Bomb was another Prop maker.

I will eventually upgrade Belt to CY productions

Hey Allan!!!

You look great!!!

I just wanted to clear up a couple of points.

Durans makes great replica boots but did not make the boots for the original show.

Darren is dyeing the tights fabric to a nice color based on an old formula of mine I believe (maybe the old RIT formula). It is not a color matched to the tight color used on the show.

MINOR points that have little to do with the look, which is STELLAR, but I just like to keep the info for mass consumption as true and correct as I can. :)
You wear it well my friend!!

Just my opinion, but CY Productions belts are not all that accurate judging by the pics on his site. And he Supposedly had access to the real thing? One pictured is supposed to be a replica of a season 1 belt. While it resembles it details don't match the Hardeman belt. The screen used pouches never used snaps, but tacks and never opened.
For greater accuracy I'd suggest you get Chuck's costume patterns and making it yourself. It would be alot cheaper too. I think total cost for mine was $160 thereabouts.

Was it difficult to make? I'm inexperienced in working with leather.

If you're looking for accuracy I would have to agree with Yodakiller.
Clints belts are OK but the details are nowhere near what was used on set.

I don't want to hijack Allans thread but the belt is what got me making my own costume.
The "expert" claiming what he was selling was just like screen used, but I could see at a glance it was off.

So I just made my own.

Not difficult at all. You just need an exacto knife to cut the leather and someone with an industrial sewing machine to sew it. I am planning on doing the Hardeman pouches and cylinders as a Phase 2 project. For Phase 1 I made wooden pouches and cylinders since I needed a complete belt right away. They used those in some of the belts in the series. If you need advice, help feel free to PM me.
