It's been a while since I've actually done anything worth submitting, so I got this a few days ago to accompany my 31" C3PO.

I've seen several videos of people weathering these figures to bring up the realism, so this is my attempt at just that.

No WIP pics (not that they're necessary), but here he is as done as I plan on for now.

And 3PO is currently doing his Cloud City impression in pieces in the shop. He's going to be a bit more involved, paint wise.

More to come :)

That Artoo looks great! I have one of the interactive R2s that came out several years ago. It never even crossed my mind to weather it, but after seeing your work I might try it. Can you elaborate on the techniques you used?

All I did was take a couple bottles of acrylic paint, thin them with water, and blotch it into the nooks and crannies with a paint brush. Let it sit for about five minutes and wipe most of it off with a rag. I used mixes of black, white, and burnt umber.

The videos I saw they used black and brown liquid shoe polish. I don't have any brown shoes so I couldn't justify $3 on a bottle of the stuff versus 50 cents for the paint.

Starting on 3PO now.
