This was on the cover of Variety a few weeks back. Shot a pic in my office with my digicam, so apolgies for the quality. You can see the outfit and weapons, etc. Looks like the 45s again and the clip pouches are straight but that machine gun has a drum. Maybe something he just picks up.

Anyway, thought there would be some interest.

Yup, looks like a WW2 Russian PPSH, for sure it is not the Thompson he carried around a lot.

Cool photo, hope this movie has more than its share of cool moments in it ! :thumbsup

We need blind squirrel to chime in on this one and host a pic of "one of his dumb projects" ;)

Entertainment weekly ran a story on this flick in thier 100 movie preview issue. Rob Cohen, of Fast and The Furious, XXX, Stealth, and other bad action movie fame is directing this one.

It's funny to me that he refused doing sequels to his own movies but he's doing the third mummy film.

I was following the movie diaries on his site, it seems a fun movie, not a "masterpiece" of the genre, but it could be nice.
The only things I don't like are Jet Li as the mummy of the chinese emperor (too much martial arts...) and the new actress for the character of Evy (I will miss Rachel Weisz...)
I'm curious to see the first trailer:)

Rachel Weisz refused to be in it because they are casting the son as a 21 year old and she didn't want to be the mother of a 21 year old on film.

Too bad about Weisz, I will miss her in that role. Hard to lose one of the 2 main characters.

The U.K. "ES Magazine" had an interview with Rachel Weisz in the Nov. 16 issue. Her decision not to reprise Evelyn's role also seems to be a part of being a mother and not being able to fit it into her schedule. She's quoted saying "I would have had to go to China for three months and I just can't travel like that any more."

I know nothing about guns, but I love the Mummy movies!! The mixture of comedy, adventure and really cool costumes and props...

I too will seriously miss Wiesz, though I respect her decision on real life limitations. If it was just because she didn't want to be on screen as a mother of a 21 year old, that would have been extremely lame...

Anyway, I hope the replacement lives up to her standard.

I can't really picture brendan fraser as the parent of 21 year old either. He's what? 35-38?

Maria Bello is the new female lead, but not sure in what capacity. Luke Ford is going to be his son.

This is what Cohen quoted in EW: "When I made the decision to to make the son 21, I got a very angry phone call from Weisz's agent saying she'll never play the mother of a 21 year old. I said ok, good, fine, bye."

Alway believe agents, thats the rule:rolleyes

Regardless I am glad they made the son older, no reason to just rehash the last movie. Change things up a little! Besides it has been 7 years since the last one how old was the kid then?

Sorry, we are drifting off topic of the picture and the props - I will stop that:angel

It does seem like the son is too old considering the last movie but I'll still give it a shot.
Who knows they might explain it in the movie... or ignore it.:unsure

Sincerely,
The Wolf
