Mugatu’s Souvenirs, Novelties, Party Tricks: LIVE FIRE E11

SPECIAL DELIVERY!!!

The week that keeps on giving keeps on giving! I received a very special package yesterday from another of the masters of this prop world. One of the guys, like Markus, who has helped me out immensely from the very beginning of my time here Mr. teecrooz ! I can’t thank you enough, my friend.

Here is what was inside:

One of the final Parks MPP’s and an original Warner-Swasey Scope Holster from those fun times of WWI. I know you are all fairly familiar with MPP’s and their repros and Mr. Jeff Parks (he made one of the very best MPP repros), so here are some more photos of the ultra rare Warner Swasey holster that I asked teecrooz about one time calling it the “Swerner Casey”... I’m still not sure how I got Swerner Casey. (I must have been thinking of one of the producers of lots of 1980’s sitcoms, Marcy Carsey Kerner, or the old US Olympic track star Joyce Carsey Swerner.

For those wondering to themselves “now what the hell is this??” It is the long compartment hanging from Farmboy Luke’s belt in ANH, as seen here:

...and I know my photos are terrible and dark so here are some with the flash:

I am super excited at what showed up in the mail today... missing pieces...

View attachment 1042110

So what am I still missing??

Special Thanks to The Ninja for Numero Zwei, trooper for the quick ship, Cameron for the hand-crafted wedge, DEC for the plate, and ObiShane for the GT volley.

Awesome Andy congrats, I love seeing these Luke Hero Macro parts altogether (y)

What Seagull Knob did you pickup?

Looks like you still need;
Transition Box
Female VTR Plug (I think you have one of those little suckers ;))
Topper for the VTR Plug

Thanks Ian! Yes, I’ve got the female portion and the topper. The Seagull knob and internal parts I got from eBay. Someone was selling just the knob. I think it was maybe Jediseth but I cannot verify that really. I don’t think the large Seagull knob is correct actually, but I will look into that more when this really gets going.

As for the transition box, I’m taking a cue from OdiWan72 and am going to attempt fabricting it from the Kalimar body.

Pray for me. Pray for the Kalimar!

Oh nice congrats! all real parts, amazing (y)

Thanks, eethan I wasn’t planning on starting this just yet, but someone made me an offer I couldn’t refuse on that second Kalimar (lens really), so here we go...

good luck for the fabrication of the transition box. I'm looking forward to see that.
I personally built the kalimar bracket that holds the viewfinder? opening top part of the kalimar to the transition box from brass sheet. It wasn't easy and the result is not perfect but it's quite rewarding to build your own parts.

your seagull button is according to most people not the right version indeed but in the end, it looks good on the macro as well, so if you like it when you put it there, who cares!

good luck and don't hesitate if you need help disassembling or assembling. The seagull is actually the hardest to disassemble, so that's done already ;)

Great collection of parts Mugatu. It wasn’t me that had a large Seagull knob for sale. The accurate one is believed to be the silver one, but I’m fairly certain it was painted to knock out any reflection just like other parts.

Thanks for the kind words and helpful advice guys. It will be heeded... unless/until I become impatient, then you will witness something I can only liken to that jerk melting the vintage Kenner SW figures!

Hmmm. I wonder what I was thinking it could be you... someone in SC if I remember correctly (I probably don’t)... was it you, russellsch ?

Fabulous pickup man. Can’t wait to see your build!

Thanks, Ben! I am eager to begin working on this.

The Ninja here are the photos I just took of the Seagull knob. It is definitely not correct and there is no portion of this that is rubber.

EDIT: My wife has just showed me the rubber part. The band is rubber.
