So I have done a few costumes now, but never anything like this. Thought I would give it a try using Pepakura. LMK what you guys think... This is a few pics after 2 weeks of work on and off.

What scale did you use for your pep helmet?

its 280mm in height. Is that what you mean?

Yes, thanks. I'm going to build the Guy pep after I complete the Thomas pep.

is looking good! You should tweek the part where the "cheek" and the "ear" come together and this could be pretty nice!

im liking this how and what did you use to build that vacuformer?

Hahah I know the former almost looks better than the lid! haha. It's the cheapest wood that they had at the lumber yard, silicone, staples, weather stripping, and some nuts and bolts to hold the frames together. I'm going to give it a first run tonight! At work now and can't wait to leave! haha

haha im not trying to take away from the helmet is going awesome its just thats a sharp looking former are those just baby sized holes or just marks for them? and how to plan on former the main portion of the helmet?

The skeleton will be covered in resin and sanded. the only things being formed are the shields (front and back) I will be getting the skeleton chromed.

And yes they are baby holes. I will make them larger if needed.

sounds awesome do you have plans for lights and sound?

Yeah. Though it's a Tron syle helmet, I will be doing the discovery lighting in it eventually. Thats going to take a while I suspect. haha. But sounds?

NEEDS A LITTLE MORE SHAPING AND BONDO HERE AND THERE TO MAKE IT FIT PERFECT! GETTING THERE!

Shaping up nicely! What type of plastic sheets did you vacuform?

that turned out awesome haha and by sounds i always wanted one that could do sound clips from video games and tv shows haha

It's 1/16" acrylic. I looked around at a bunch of threads and it's the most common one used. It does thin out a bit more than I thought it would after the bake though. I wonder if 1/8" acrylic would be too thick to start with...

** Did you use fiberglass resin on it to make it stiff?: (7th and 8th pics) -and did you use clay- or bondo for (9th,10th, and 11th pics) ?
