Hi guys
Im new here so i thought i would share some pictures with you. This is my Master replicas Y wing. I repainted it and added new piping from plastic rod. I loved this project and i am really pleased with the results.
Just what is involved in repainting?? Do you need to prep the model first by washing it?, primer, and overall base coat? Or is it just spot repainting?
I have the MR Y-wing but kinda think that the overall paint effect is just too dark.
I used superglue deponder to release the canopy but i still managed to crack it a little. The pilot is from a CC X-wing. I sanded him dowm ALOT. In fact he has nothing below the waist.
I primed the whole model with grey primer and went from there. Its all airbrushed including all of the weathering.
You know, the more you guys re paint these the better they look.
Fantastic. Who was it that did the fiber optics for the interior? Amazing work you guys :thumbsup
:cry How can I look at mine now. I am so hesitant to go in there and try to improve such a costly item. But when I look at yours it makes me want to try.
I hope that MR is learning something after seeing all of us repainting the Y wing. They need to have better factory paint jobs. I also had mine repainted by Echoleader.
think about how much time it takes you to do a fine job like this..................MR could not stay in business.........nor could you afford a model with that much time/labor invested in it.
A sweat shop couldn't produce the quality you see on this board anyway. The talent here is astounding.
