MR TOS Enterprise - new pics

I just had a dialogue with a high level Customer Service Representative at MR who provided me with the following information:

There WILL be a shipping of LE Starships which will leave MR's distribution center on 1/18/2007 (credit cards will be charged/debitted on 1/16/2007 so get your info updated in necessary).

Check your order status on the MR website. If your order is listed as "processing" you have a shot to be on the 1/18/2007 list. A shot, but not a guarantee. Processing means that your ship has left Hong Kong and has been allocated to your account, but your ship might NOT be in the first group set to go out next week.

For specific details on your ship, contact MR Customer Service at 1-866-REPLIKA with your order number in hand.

There are at least two of us on the ASAP forum who ARE on the 1/18 list, so at the very least we should have some more pretty pictures to droll over and QC analysis to scrutinize...

Good Luck.

I talked to them today. They told me the shipment is expected arrive at 'their' facilities on the 18th, and to expect delivery in early February.

Well, this is the problem with MR Customer Service. As many answers as people you ask...

That said, my info came from one of MR full-time service reps who is actually an MR employee and NOT one of the phone stooges who operate free-lance out of their own basements. So if I were a betting man, I'd go with the infomation I listed above. But only time will tell.

So they are as reliable as the IRS. Expected to take our money, we are expected to get ours, well soon.
So instead of all of this what day stuff, will see them when we see them. Should we get Vegas odds on 'when' MR is most likely to ship. :lol
When calling MR I am happy that I get to talk to an American. :D

Will today be the day the money is transfered.?.?. Well the money is still in the account and no email from MR. I guess it isn't going to happen today. :cry

My dealer got his SE allready.. Wow check this out faster than MR

The first Master Replicas USS Enteprises Signature Edition has arrived and already shipped out, we recieved notification that the second Signature Edition will be shipping the first week of February. Notifications have not arrived for the Limited Editions yet but our rep advised they will begin shipping those the last week of Jan and carrying through Feb. We will do our best to allocate these according to order status. They will be shipping in waves because of the size so not all will arrive at the same time. Currently the Signature Edition arriving first week of Feb is not sold if anyone would like to upgrade to a SE be sure to let us know right away. We will only be getting one SE in stock but pre-orders are still available. Thank you.

I say again :cry When MR When?.

Robomorph over at the statue forum has posted these pics.
More flaws unfortunately. The buckled grill was on both nacelles. I had the same problem on the one I sent back but only one engine. He is planning on sending this one back. A few nits is ok, but this one has a bit too many.

This customer is happy.....so I would say some are going to be nicer then others, that is the evidence so far.

Pushed back till February. That's not good news. Each week this is not out, is money lost by MR.
The pics I have seen of the MR E show a lack of quality control, and a poor attitude toward their product and customer. These two E's should have never left China, much less MR.

It's almost like there is a curse that follows these models. I know there isn't.

I think most of us would be quite happy to wait longer for a better product. With only a handful of examples so far to go by, two are headed back at them for very valid reasons. Not nitpicking perfectionists stuff.

Mine is due to arrive at about the end of the month. I will tell you, it better be near perfect for the kind of money they are getting. If not, it will go back. It would be nice to know what kind of percentage so far are seeing problems. I can live with a few tiny things, but not with most of the troubles I am seeing. Doesn't MR have QA people in China now? I'd be looking over each of these literally with a magnifying glass before they went out the door if it was my job. Are folks seeing as many issues with the Falcon?

I agree, the apparent lack of QC is sad. Especially with the kind of money we're throwing down. A corgi die cast should not look cleaner than this. I suspect the Falcon has it's own share of inconsitancies and faults....it's just SO detailed and purposely weathered and the surface has so much to look at, that it is much more forgiving. I bet the faults are there, you just don't notice them. I sure hope they crack the whip overseas for future waves and get things cleaned up before they are boxed up and sent to customers.

Agreed.
These small but none the less significant oversights by QC are a worry.
High end items such as these should come with a Quality control 'inspected by' sticker, signed by whoever is responsible for the inspection of these items before they go out, much in the same way a $200 DVD player has.
The little problems, such as glue seeping from joins, gaps and flaking paint should, and more importantly could be put right before they are shipped, irrespective of the cost of the item, or the cost of putting the problem/s right, IMHO.
I just can't see any of these problems - whatever the emphasis placed upon them by anyone here - as justifiable or acceptable.
It would be interesting to see the percentage of returns due to quality issues, and to know how high that percentage is permitted to reach before it's acted upon by whoever monitors that side of the business.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the Falcon, it is more forgiving of these kinds of things.

But failed lighting and unsightly buckled grills that are supposed to be flush wouldnt fly on a Falcon model either.

Small paint chips, some gaps and small light leaks, glue showing a bit and painted over. Ok, I can live with a little of that. I understand those things to a point and I can FIX some of that myself. I am probably too forgiving, I am just used to improving things I buy. However, I cannot live with unsightly buckled warp grills and failing lighting. And a noisy motor was not a happy thing either, but I suppose I can live with that too if the rest of the ship is otherwise ok, Ill put a cover over it and that ought to deaden the sound.

MR/Corgi needs to do a production stand down in Hong Kong, put some effort into QC, and hopefully do this before hundreds and hundreds of these are shipped to customers, it could be too late now. I dont know.
Or filter out the bad ones, if it is 25% so be it. Dont let them get into customers hands.

If you MR guys are out there, remember, just tell us what is going on, and we will wait longer for a better product. these things happen. Wise companys know how to deal with this kind of thing. It sucks, but better to take the path that keeps you on solid ground with the customers. Open and up front is the best path, admitting their are some problems early is best.

It does, and it is. But Trek? Gotta be pristine.

I have the MR falcon and If it had gaps, visible glue and such it would be VERY apparent. This is not the case on my Falcon. and while I've seen varying degrees of quality in the wethering the construction seems to be pretty consistently good... I'm sure there are screwups though...

AS for the Enterprise - it had best be blemish free or mine is absolutely going back... Not a nick or buckle anywhere...

I also pray that whoever paints mine is very light on the weathering and gridlines... some of the pics I've seen are a bit iffy in that Dept... most are good though... Of course the complainers tend to get noticed more then the happy customers.

I'm hoping that the delay in shipping is to correct the issues of QC on the products from china. If that is the case I'm fine with waiting a bit...

Jedi Dade

Mine has been shipped back also due to lighting problems, bad connector is my guess, I also pointed out some nicks and glue spots, I don't know if those will be corrected or not.

I agree with the QC issue, dishing out 1900.00 was not easy for me and I expected more, with an investment as large as this one by MR, QA should play a much more important role than shipping on time... :unsure
