No. The model has no sound chip.
I just put that sound effect in the background for fun.

ULTD? If by that you mean the 1:350 Unobtainium, that's definitely in limbo.

The 66" is in storage, cause I got no garage. :D

Well, I have my return shipping label now, so packing it up tonight and will send it out tomorrow for exchange.

I wonder what they will do with her? Only way to fix it is to bust open the saucer. Maybe they can do that in Hong Kong.

At any rate, hoping for the replacement to arrive soon. Got used to having her dominate the room.

Just FYI, I ordered my LE the first day, and no shipping notice yet. I don't mind waiting. I need to recover from the Falcon. :)

Lynn...JOEY here. No...I haven't received my TOS E yet. I haven't even received an E-mail confirmation. I'm beginning to doubt that the MR CS rep was telling me the truth. I rush home from work every day hopin that my inbox will contain the e-mail that I want to see. So far NADA. I will post as soon as I get my e-mail and will post photos as soon as it arrives so we can all compare craftsmanship. I'm kinda thinkin that getting a higher number in the edition may not be a bad thing. I'm sure that after what Cessna has been through and all the post on these boards, MR has been puttin calls in to Hong Kong. Maybe the ones we get will be closer to perfect. (Fingers Crossed) :D

Any way we can get a response out of UFP-1701 as to whether he's in line for an CE, SE, or LE? Still trying to figure out if the LEs are really on their way. I assume he wasn't kidding about that shipping notice...
 
I sent Amy a PM on the MR Fourm. She's the Customer Service contact person for the forum. I told her of my call 2 weeks ago when I was told that my TOS LE would be in my hands in the next 2 weeks. I had not received the 48 hour e-mail and wondered if she had any further info. Her reply was that a mistake had been made. The ships were being sent over from overseas in small lots as they were completed and that mine was not in the first shipment. She indicated that only one shipement had been received. She apologized and said that I would be notified as soon as it was ready to ship to me. I replied that I was not upset, mistakes happen. I also asked if, since they were coming in small batches, could quality control issues be addressed now about concerns that were being posted on the web by people that had already received their order. Specifically, light leaks around the hanger deck control room, gaps around the navigation beacon above the hanger deck and inconsistent grid line thickness. I'll let ya know what I hear.

So far the only run offered includes an oak base and oak trim on the case--I think that's why it is so much less expensive, in that the acrylic is just panels that slide into an oak framework rather than sheets that are bent into a cover and/or fused.
