I knew my wife wouldn't get me anything but the usual crap, so I picked this baby up from another RPF member (Thanks Dark Shadow.). It's only the CE version, but I think it's pretty sweet.

these things are just too nice at too nice a price to pass up.

and with such a simple design, doesnt really need to be anything better... so how many were made do we know?

did they discontinue the CE line like ive heard recently?

My CE is the high point of my collection. My fav. PT saber, and the frankly it holds its own against my LE's. Always good to treat yourself.

I have to agree. The CE is a great piece. I was very sad to hear MR was terminating the CE line of products. For the price and quality, it's really a fantastic piece.

I think the CE line ended up confusing their market. Originally, the CE line was intended to be dramatically lower quality and be marketed to a much wider audience than us hardcore prop collectors. Resin cast instead of metal, etc. But I heard they were not satisfied with the quality of the resin castings and ended up going with a higher quality fabrication.

As we who bought the CE know, it ended up being very, very nicely made. It certainly gave me pause about buying other props as LE if I thought there might be a CE version. I think that ultimately this confusion was hurting sales more than helping. I also wonder if the CE line ended up finding a wider audience than the LE line.
