MR Han ESB Scope mounting hardware

I tried searching, but couldn't come up with the answer. I've noticed in pics of MR's ESB DL-44 that the greeblie that mounts the scope mount to the blaster is different than what many of us use. I've been out if the loop for a while, was this a new discovery? Can anybody tell me what it is, and perhaps provide some dimensions?

Thanks.

No new discovery. Really looks similar to the piece I have on my Luke ESB except my piece is straight knurled as Luke's definitely is (MR went with diamond knurling on both steps).
I'd say it's MR's artistic license because there are no pics of that side of Han's blaster.

Thanks Chris... I thought maybe I'd missed something. I personally like the look of it, and would like to upgrade my blaster with something similar. Might have to hit the lathe tomorrow see what I can come up with....

You know it would be really great if we could get a run going of super acurate Han ESB flash hiders and bracket mounts. The MR ones look really nice, but are a bit too idealized for my taste.

I made some superb Han ESB Flash Hiders and would be willing to do another run.

That looks pretty good. How much would one of these run?

If I had 20-30 people I could do them for $35 or less.

I would definately be in at that price. Perhapse an interest thread would be in order.

I've still got plenty of angled aluminum.

I wouldn't mind doing a short run of highly accurate mounts. :)

I could make the knobs as well. ;)

I drew up a line drawing of what I think is a fairly accurate Han ESB flash supressor, let me know what you think.

Dan

I'd probably be in for a flash hider myself (probably after Christmas). Yours looks Nice, Dave. I've got an exedge on mine now, and it's just not accurate enough.

Does anybody have more dimensions on the knob?

I'd be interested if a run came about.

i would be interested in a han solo ANH blasters flash hider. the black one with the holes, the greedo killer. i have a denix mauser and i want to do the greedo killer han solo blaster.

The GK flash hider didn't have holes. The Hero did.

did you actually look at the link you provided? it shows the origianl gun, and YES, it has the holles in the flash hider. the flash hider was from a fire extinguisher, it has the holes.

the first pic is the movie version, and the 2nd is the alternate hero version used for promotions.

you got your guns mixed up.

this is what it says, and below that are the 2 pics. the first is the movie version he used, and the 2nd was closeups, and promo shots.

WEAPONS

Note: There are two different versions of Han's blaster seen in A New Hope.
The first is the main version used throughout the film and the second was used only in a closeup shot in the Mos Eisley Cantina (and some promotional photos).

The flash hider (with the holes) for the hero version is from a machine gun not a fire extinquisher. TPOSW site has not been updated to reflect this. Look at the archives section and you'll find out which gun. The GK blaster uses a flash hider from an M3 greasegun.

(note: emphesis added)

It's a flash hider/suppressor from an MG81 machine gun. A discovery made right here on the RPF. :thumbsup
