MR Fett rifle pics at Rebelscum

What the hell are those black blobs all over the gun? It looks like they filled in missed parts with a sharpie.

Wow. I am not impressed at all. There may be some still excited about it and willing to do a repaint, but why? At that price, it should be perfect!

Ahaha... Aahahahahahaha... You HAVE to be kidding me, right? Rogue Studios painted a BEAUTIFUL master for them and THAT is what they came up with?!? THAT?!?! Why even bother have someone with skills paint a prototype if THAT is to be the result?!? Any faith I had left in MR just went right out the window. No wonder they are losing their license. Who wants to buy crap like this or support a company that can't do any better than that steaming pile? Can't wait to see how they ruin the helmet...

*****, that looks like shiite! At that price they're insane. It looks like a cheap halloween blaster. Such a shame. While I was never a big fan, MR did used to turn out some quality pieces. It doesn't even look like they're trying. Just phoning it in until the license expires.

I'm not sure why they even bothered with either of the Boba items with all the complicated weathering.....

On a side note, that guy has a REAL Webley built up into a ROTJ EE-3 and bought an MR? I couldn't imagine wanting more than the "real deal".......

To be fair, there are people here with dozens of different versions of the same prop. Same with anything you have a particular collector focus on.

But back on the prop- any hope for Boba's helmet just went out the window. Subtle weathering on an all-black blaster is simple compared to the paintjob on the helmet. If the factory can't get simple weathering right, how can they get something as complex as his helmet right?

Man, oh man... here's hoping that they all don't look that way. I have one on order and have been patiently waiting for ages. Please don't let mine look like that one. Please!!!!

I'm in agreement there. No way any MR piece can come close to the real deal. I mean, when you have THE original item, why bother shelling out for a lackluster resin copy?

Personally, after seeing it, I'd return it and be thrilled with the original flare gun.

Well I can't disagree. But if this helps explain a little or make it hurt a little less I spend hours making those protos and unfortuantely in an assembly line sort of process they don't spend that much time on these pieces, they do try their best and at times peices or questions have come back for reworking so they can figure it out easier. I don't think it's intentional and I do understand your frustrations but some things are just not that easy to reproduce and sometimes if you make something how it really looks now some customers may not be as happy with that either.

Very sorry about your disatisfaction and again I don't feel your concerns are unfounded.

I was told the Boba helmet on display at the MR party in LA was an actual production version and I think it came out pretty good.
I'm planning to buy one.

The gun was subtle stuff and it's hard to replicate that with assembly line techniques. That's why MR decided to go with clean versions of many props.
I agree it looks really bad.

...and how can you mass produce somewhat-accurate weathering? If they wanted it to look somewhat decent it would take a lot longer than what it does now. MR definitely gets a boo-hiss from this peanut gallery.

wow... the paint job looks so... cartoony. it looks like an illustration of an ee3.

i'd rather they just shipped an "as built" version than that. the sculpt looks great, but the paint brings it so far down!

hopefully someone will buy it, repaint for trooping, and sell me the case to put my bronze one in :)
