MR Falcon

I just wish MR made use of all that video I shot of the Falcon being scanned at the archives, or all the data Steve and I put together for the "Falcon Diary" idea that never was. But whattya gonna do.
[/b]

Please elaborate on what your are talking about.

All I can say based off what I have seen is WOW. :cry

Fantastis pics . Would you be able to post some pics of each of the side panels and those hard to see equipment bays on the belly area ?

Thanks lots

I got mine (LE #0012) on Monday after missing two delivery attempts last week. My wife let me open it before Christmas to inspect for damage, because the UPS guy literally dropped it off the back of his truck. Fortunately, there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. No need to post pics because everything about it including the paint looks exactly like the other pics already posted.

Everybody involved with this project has really raised the bar. I wonder if there will ever be another licensed prop replica this awesome...

Yeah, that's kinda what happened on my delivery, too. The truck had a cargo lift, but he scooted it to the back, climbed down, then let gravity do it's thing while he wedged the box between his body and the back of the truck. It never actually dropped, per se. But, If I hadn't literally been standing right next to him...I wonder what he would have done. :lol

It was a good idea to double-box these, with the primary box suspended on foam inside. My outer box had a couple of 4" diameter holes punched in it. But the inside box was pristine. The packaging is very good.

I can't say enough good things about this replica. Having had a day to sleep on it...it looks just as good, if not even better, today. I've been staring at the Falcon this morning, reflecting on what I would have thought of this moment when I was a 13 year old with Empire just out. :) Cool.

I can really relate with this startement, as I use to imagine what it would be like to actually have the falcon used in the movie, now it appears I will, close enough anyway. :D

mine just got here...

opened the outer box, but need help with the inner box. (wife is running errands ATM)

gotta say I'm abit disappointed with my edition number since I was quick on the finger refreshing my screen right as they went onsale. *BIG SIGH*

hey what can I say? I'm a #'s guy.

What did you get? I got #47, but there's no way that's really my position in the electronic ordering queue. Regardless, like has been discussed, it's a random assignment. I figure it's practically meaningless, anyway: I'll never sell it. :D

EDIT: I should also point out that it's the lowest edition # I've ever owned from MR.

I was surprised to get such a low number. I think I remember somebody around here saying that all that means is that you have an early nameplate, not an early model.

Do you think somebody at MR gets #1138?

Mike

Yeah, what number did you end up with? I got #45 and as a bit surprised since I was right there hitting refresh, too. Oh well, its the model that I'm in love with, not the plaque.

IT'S THE ENTERPRISE CHASING THE FALCON .

I think you said it all right there, Imaginager...

Isn't it amazing how guys (and girls) like us can instantly appreciate the emotion behind that statement? None of us would be in this forum or in this hobby at all if we weren't really still 13 at heart...

If you had found this thing under your Christmas tree in December 1980... what would have happened next?

Hey I was too (and 40 ain't that bad. ;) ).

I would have died of heart failure.

I remember well the arrival of the MPC kit in 1978 with that gorgeous picture of the 5 footer on the lid, opening it up and thinking "what the ----?"

Many years have passed. It's no 5 footer (thank goodness where would I put it?), but it's the Falcon. It's the Millennium Falcon, right there in your home right in front of you. How cool is that?

I'm thrilled that so many more Falcon fans now have the same opportunity.

I would have done a frantic dance around the living room, and my dad (who in theory would have footed the Falcon bill) would have been the one to expire from heart failure. He never would have understood the amount of money that I channel into this hobby. But then, he grew up in an era when steak cost 20 cents per pound and you could buy a new Plymouth Roadking for $685.

Still waiting for my Falcon to arrive in Tokyo. Ships this week. :D

Thanks, everyone, for the awesome pictures.

P.S. I predict that, at age 44, I'm still going to do a frantic dance around the living room when I uncrate the Falcon. :p

On another note, whoever owns the site at the end of this post included a URL from my site to the Falcon pics I posted above. I actually don't mind someone using the pics I took to sell their allotment of Falcons. My pics aren't that great. However, I've been PM'd to ask if I know the seller. I DO NOT.

I also don't recommend buying from him. (1) His website doesn't include contact information. And (2), he doesn't understand that using a URL to my site can lead people to think that he and I are affiliated. If you want to use my pics, knock yourself out. But, don't be a lazy you-know-what.

Host them yourself.

I also do not recommend buying from this individual. I have had one and only dealing with Sphiatt and it was and will be the last. :angry
