Heya guys,

I've ordered the MR Falcon and it will ship to me in Australia in around 2 weeks, however I notice on the product description that it was standard for the clear display case to be not included - is this correct?

If so, where did you guys pick up the clear protective case?

Thanks guys,
Tez

Correct... no acrylic cover from MR for the Falcon. They said they were going to offer one at a later time, but never did.

I ordered mine from casesforcollectibles.com.

Since you are in Australia, your best bet would probably be to contact a number of local plastics companies and get some quotes for a case. Shipping for a case that size is killer.

I ended up paying $130 USD for a local made one. The cheapest I could get one made and shipped to me was over $300 USD.

My case came from the that same company. Here is a shot of it just to give you an idea.

Looks great! I wanted to go with them too since I saw so many nice pictures of Cases from them...but alas it was a little too much for my budget.

Well, there are two reasons it's higher in price, one is the size, but two is that the size requires a thicker grade of acrylic so it won't sag in the center. It really is worth it if you paid almost 2K for this puppy and you don't want little grimy hands touching it and breaking bits off down the road.............if you know what I mean?

I thought I'd have big troubles finding a case for mine .. turned out, the acrylic section in the phone book gave ma around 25 numbers to call ..

I got quoted between 250$ and 475$ .. finally ended up having it for 200$.

I'm never that lucky with specialty shops here locally. I can't even find local machinists who will take on small custom jobs. They only want to deal with huge 1000 piece minimum orders etc...... If it has to do with prop parts and supplies, I have to mail order everything.

Dave :)

I would just go with casesforcollectibles.com

They always do a nice job! There are the ones who made my case for my 31 Brodeen Hand built Nautilus and I am going to order a case for my Commorative edition Enterprise...Really great people!
