MR ANH Solo blaster question

Hey gang. this will probably reveal to the entire forum just how out of touch I am with all things ANH, but I cannot seem to dig up any info on the upcoming (or did I already miss it??) release of the Solo ANH blaster re-do. I unerstand that they've done away with the denix, and are using a base gun similar to the one on the ESB gun they put out a while ago.

Anyone have availability information on this bad boy?

Pics?

info??

Hey Matt,

You will not be able to see it or buy it unless your an MR CS member but it's the same bad photos that have been up now since they started pre order (not sold out) so what the final product will look like is any ones guess.

I’ve been trying for some time now to get some sort of update but no one from MR seems to address it other than they said it was shown to Ford when he was signing the Falcon signature plates.

Hey MR. I have one on order how about showing me. :D

Here's what MR says about this edition:

Never-before-seen details
Die-cast metal construction
See-through scope
Real wood grips
Machined steel replica MG81 booster/flash-suppressor
Pristine paint finish
Museum quality display case with mirrored base and acrylic cover
Prop story, numbered plaque and Certificate of Authenticity
Limited to 1250 pieces worldwide

Hey Munster,

The Han Solo ANH Elite Edition is an all new tooling of a Broomhandle Mauser. It feaures an accurate scope cradle and bracket, grill on the front, silver disc and the T-track and switch greeblies on the sight (or you can switch it out for a Shorter (broken) T-track without the greeblies). The flash suppressor is copied from an actual surviving WWII original and like the ANH version before it, you can mount it off center or centered depending on your taste. It has a see-through scope, comes complete with wooden handles, and arrives with a pristine finish, allowing those of us out there to weather it to our hearts content, or not... (that will invalidate the warranty)

It's pretty darn sweet, but then the Han Solo ANH blaster is one of my faves, so I'm bound to say that. I love my original MR Han Solo LE - a great piece that I'm not tempted to part with - but it does share the faults and inaccuracies of the aborted Icons version. This EE brings up to date the latest theories and found parts, and quite simply knocks spots off what's gone before.

Not trying to be a pain here but are there no photos at this point of the replica? I remember Bryan showing some prototype close up shots a while back at Rebelscum but since then not a word.

I'll have to take some pics or get Bryan to. Bear with me.

I'm a little unclear about getting one of these. Do I have to sign up for some BS MR club thing?? The link to the website didn't show price or pics.

Barry, hook a brother up.

Yes you need to be a member of the MR Collectors Society to see it I believe.
I couldnt see it and then logged in and it showed up and im a CS member.

Is it ever going to be made available to those of us who are NOT CS members? Cuz I don't plan on joining.

MR Collectors Society Exclusive, not available to the public in the United States but I understand you can order it from Forbidden Planet in England.

That would be sweet - I'm fairly convinced that the lack of decent pics of this one have hurt it's sales.

I have one on order and can't wait - but it would be cool to at least have a look at what we're shelling out the cash for. The pics on the order page are absolutely worthless and they may as well have not been there. Those that have ordered have had to put full trust in MR - and not everyone is willing to do that.

And some folks who have cast a careful eye at MR, read a book about marketing, and stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night expect an "unlimited" weathered edition at half the price...to be announced "next."

Or at least these CS-only "at least we didn't steal anyone's pictures and use them as advertisements this time" blasters will end up at half price or less on eBay ;)

That said, I have one on order too, to match up with my one-off Mauser/Hensoldt buildup :)

The prototype pics that were out a while definitely showed that the "new" version will be much nicer, with crisp details on the pistol base that match an actual Mauser. I have one on order too and have hoped more pics would be out soon. Is it still on track to begin shipping in December??

Lots of you have been asking to see updated pics of the Han Solo ANH Elite Edition Blaster that's shortly due to hit customer's hands. Here are some I took in the garden. Sorry for the poor lighting but it's actually cloudy today in sunny SoCal.

SILVER DISC DETAIL

The theory we worked from is that something was glued directly onto the body of the gun but perhaps came off when the gun was fired. Harrison Ford couldn't remember what was on there, if anything. However, the detailed pic seemed to reveal a slight lip so we came to the conclusion that the silver was actually the natural body colour of the gun and that the paint had come away with whatever had come off. So we masked the circle during the annodizing process and when the masking was peeled away - voila, a silver disc (the metal of the gun body) was revealed with a slight recess due to the thickness of the powder coating.

Hey Barry,

Thanks for posting the pics of the new MR Solo blaster, It really looks like a great piece. I expecially like the scope bracket, It looks like MR nailed that part. I was wondering if MR has ever considered selling conversion kits or individual parts. I would really love to get a scope bracket like that for my blaster.
