Movies that should have been two separate films.

Similar to the too long thread, but different as in it felt like two movies tacked together. Name the movie and where the split should be.

I'll start with Stripes! Loved it but after their basic training, I had to check my movie stub. Could have been:
Stripes I - Basic Training.
Stripes II - The producer wants a free Recreational Vehicle.

The Dark Knight. The two face storyline should have been saved for the next movie after Dent goes to the hospital.

From Dusk Till Dawn!

My god this movie totally changed genres right in the middle!!!!

Yes, I'm still angry.

I can't enjoy it.

I concur. Everything about Dent's character after he got burned felt rushed and not quite believable.

Even though I knew they would eventually run into vampires, once it happened it felt like a completely different film--one that wasn't as good. It was like Tarantino (who wrote the bulk of the screenplay) had parts of two films he didn't quite know what to do with, so he just slapped 'em together.

War of the Worlds (just like the book, Part 1, about the fights against the martians, part 2, about the world already occupied and people hiding and thinking about a possible resistance)

X-Men 3: A movii about the cure and the magneto war, and a second one about Dark Phoenix herself.

Yes. And I do much like the movie. But it was already plenty interesting with the storm and nutso jarhead and all the associated problems. It didn't need the NTIs.

Exactly what I thought as well. I like the movie but not how the two story lines meshed (or didn't mesh).

Dune could have been broken up into two films. Personally, I would kill to see a four hour long Special Edition released with a great deal of the edited sequences restored in addition to CGI improvements, especially in the areas of the Harkonnen attack on Arrakis and the ending battle. I can't say I'm normally a huge fan of Special Editions but this is a film I feel could really benefit from one.

And incidentally, the "Alan Smithee" version....BLOWS!!!!

Killbill Cool movie, lots of actions, perfect mix of diffrent shooting styles (the anime scenes are so cool)

Killbill 2 The sequel sucks--- Feels like a totally diffrent movie and not a sequel to the first one. Got nothing of the flashy and cool shooting styles from the first movie.
I pretend that this one don't exist.

Kind of agree about the second one, but it was scripted and shot as a single movie.

Both movies have their own different styles, all of which were in homage to other movies and genres. It really just depends on what genre you like. If you're a huge fan of old Chinese kung fu movies, Robert Rodriguez, and maybe a little grindhouse smut, than you might prefer the second one. Animu and Japanophilia is just more common these days.

Number 2 had a good dose of Spaghetti Western in there, too.
