Motor Cowboy boots

Has anybody purchased any boots from http://www.motorcowboy.com ??

I've been looking at http://www.motorcowboy.com/product/B1/_Battlestar_Galactica_Boots_Prop_Replica.html for a while now and can't decide if they're worth it or not. I'm more or less gonna be using them for general day to day use. Looking at quality, comfort, cost, etc.

I've also been toying with getting http://www.motorcowboy.com/product/ROCK1/_Rocketeer_Boots_Accurate_Replica.html for an eventual Rockeeter costume, though I ride a scooter so they'd get common use as well.

I can't say about things now, but I bought his first pair of Obi-Wan boots (they were the prototype) for about 150.00 back in 2001. His prices were a lot better back then, as since they have grown considerably. His Maul boots, that only look okay, are just as expensive as some have paid for the real things.

Now, as far as quality goes, those Obi-Wan boots I bought are still in great shape after 9 years. If he hadn't raised his prices (They used to average 250.00) I'd probably have picked up his Qui-Gon and Anakin boots too.

Yeah, the price is the only thing bugging me right now which is why I wanna know the quality. I don't mind paying $500 avg. for a great pair of boots since most of my clothes are vintage 30's and I need a good pair of boots to spruce everything up. They'd probably be a good jump start at a couple of costumes as well.

I got a pair of his Battlestar boots. They're decent replicas but not 100% accurate by any stretch. I needed to darken the colour of the top padding. The boots most resembled the colour you see in the bottom pic. And they've raised the prices (I paid about $350)

The fit is good, but they didn't allow enough movement for the straps, I'm at the very last hole for many of the straps (and talk about a pain to get on and buckled!)

hmmm.... I actually like that color a little better. Like I said I'm not using them for a BSG costume so the accuracy doesn't bother me so much. just quality. In all honesty would you pay $500+ now?

I might search a little harder for the true sidi bore's at that price, but if necessary, I would.

The only boots I'd ever buy from the Star Wars universe would be the Imperial officer/ Han Solo boots if only because they're so versatile.

There have been quite a few Full-Bores on the bay lately.

I would try and snag a pair off there.

For what he charges for those the accuracy is just not there at that price.

His prices have become pretty steep, the screen-accuracy is not there, and in my opinion their boots are not terribly comfortable... Very stiff leather!

hmmm.... I'll definitely do some thinking on it. Another question came up regarding boots. Anybody ever seen a place with some boots akin to what Daniel Day Lewis wore in There Will Be Blood? I've scoured the interwebs looking for some and can't really find any that match the overall look of the ones he had.

I don't wanna pair of crappy Dr. Martens. I'm looking for more realistic period style boots that would actually have wooden soles.

Whats the alternative to buying from motorcowboy
if you are looking for screen accuracy, quality, comfort, price and durability
then?

Had a bad experience with him. I paid his fee and didn't follow my requests. He wouldn't take responsibility for his flaws, either. Steer away.
