Well... Not really...

What got me on to this in the first place was a sheet of aftermarket decals I picked up years back that I thought were 1/72 scale. They were not, so my larger models featured custom graphics.

But I DID have two shuttle models from long ago I'd built in the same scales as on this decal sheet.

So like any worthwhile effects house, I thought it'd be prudent to have models in varying scales to cover the bases.

This one is 1/144. I thought you might enjoy (if you're not tired of this subject yet.)...

:D ...Oh dear lord.

I can't entirely disagree. ;)

This one is notably farther along now... Amazing how much faster it goes when its only half the size.

You asked for it. (Sort of.)

See how different the point of the bands on the fuselage are...? Mantis' shuttle was much more accurate than my 1/72 copy.

Your chin HRSI pattern doesn't go as far back on the 1/144 as it does on the 1/72 ...<ducking and running>

:D

I really, really really love your wheathering on that big one. It's gorgeous.

Thank you. Same goes or your Tomcat.

Hey, someone named Eagle is looking for a build-up in the Junkyard... Got your name all over it.

My run of Moonrakers has drawn closed. Not only am I burning out n the subject matter, I was going to do an even smaller version, but the decals I have are too small for the model I have.

This is like to Rocky movies.

Moonraker Shuttle 3.............................................thousand....

Really, they look good and you have done a fine job on them. Do you print up the decals yourself?

Kenny

Hey. Cool. I thought I HAD bored you guys to death with these. ;)

Yup -- on the 1:72 models I did print them myself. For this smaller one, I used a decal sheet that first initiated this madness. I thought the decals were for a 1:72 but they were actually for a 1:144. This kit here is an old one I did as a kid, and redid using these decals.

The decal sheet also has markings for a 1:288 kit. I do have an even smaller shuttle that I thought was 1:288, so :rolleyes here I thought I had YET ANOTHER to do. luckily, the model I have is somewhere between 1:144 and 1:288 (I'm guessing 1:100).

So I'm NOT going to build Moonraker 4.

Well, I like them all but I like the 1:72 scale shuttles. I don't have a Moonraker but I do have one done up as the Enterprise and one as the Columbia. If I only knew where to get Moonraker decals in the 1:72 scale?
Hmmm, I wonder? ;)

Kenny

JBot makes them in 1:72 scale. Except theirs does not include the large orange bands. I painted those on mine, and made all the rest of the markings on clear label paper.

But I didn't want to bother ordering, so I did my own. :)
