Moon is out on DVD and BluRay today... kindof

It's not 2001 or anything.
It didn't break new ground in sci fi either.
Nor did he try to do so.
The small budget of course is impressive for what was produced.

What it did accomplish was an engaging sci fi story that invites you to ask some questions after viewing.

I think that is the "what happened" you are looking for.

sent half of Tuesday driving around trying to find a copy of it on Blu-ray. Target and Walmart only have it on DVD and Best Buy sold out of Blu-ray... :( Will have to check Borders.

Dont forget that almost all the effects were practical FX with miniatures. So rare to see that these days. (y)thumbsup

I was surprised to see commercials for it on DVD recently since I missed it in theaters (Did anyone catch it in theaters, or know when it came out?).

I watched it today and enjoyed it, another good Space/Sci-fi Flick is "Pandorum" with Dennis Quaid, it had some really great sets too!

We saw it at the local Landmark theaters back in July.

Saw this in the theater and it was one of the best sci-fi movies to come out in the last few years

after seeing it I immediately thought of Ray Bradberry, Author C. Clark, and Phillip K. Dick

this movie is classic science fiction

and i have not been able to find a copy yet

:cry

Yesterday I went to -

Blockbuster - No Bluray for Moon
3 Best Buys - No Bluray for moon
FYE - No BluRay for Moon
2 Borders - No Bluray for Moon (They did have it on DVD though)
Target - No Bluray for Moon

I guess Moon has been banned from Miami.

Just finished watching it via Netflix( I lucked out and got it quickly), and I thought it was fantastic. Classic Sci-Fi, and I would love to see more films like this. Alot less flash and effects, and more story. Great acting, and I really dug the character. Kevin Spacey was great, too.
Cool film.

Just watched it.
Really enjoyable movie.

The wobbly GERTY really bugged me, but overall very impressed - especially with the model rovers and miners, they looked really good.

Finally got to see it. It took a while for it to be available at a nearby red box. It didn't quite live up to what I had expected from seeing the trailer six months ago, but it was good. I would have liked a little more at the end, though.

What a depressing movie!!!!

Spoilers.

Yes and no. Sam 1 made us empathize with him yes, it was sad he could not go "home", and he had to learn of his true nature and his memorys were someone else's. Perhaps the vaporization chamber would have been merciful, but he faced the truth, he even decided to sacrifice for his "brothers" so the truth could best be brought home.

I thought the final plan that succeeded at the end was great, as Sam 2 escaped and was earthbound with joy. There was triumph there that I shared more in because Sam 1 made us feel for these men.

But it is also sad because you hear people at the end saying he's an imposter/illegal alien/etc...AND you know he only has three years to enjoy Earth before he starts falling apart. It was also strange that they would program the computer to take care of him SO well. Man, that countdown was straight out of Outland. lol
