Apologies if this isn't the correct place for this topic and mods please feel free to move if so.

A UK creature effects artist called Maria Cork kindly invited me to show a couple of pieces of work at an exhibition that she's organising called Monster Mash, and I thought a few people here might be interested in taking a look. The exhibition will showcase the personal projects of artists in the UK creature effects industry from sculptures to paintings, creature design, animatronics and short films etc. Its a great idea and I'm very excited to be a part of it. There should be some really interesting stuff on show!

For more info there is a myspace page here: http://www.myspace.com/monstermashgallery

And here is the flyer:

Thanks for looking and I hope some of you can make it along :thumbsup

Cheers,
Steve.

P.S. The bars open all day long :cool

Arnie will be there! And good point Ramiel, if you're in the industry and you have something you want to exhibit then you might be able to submit it but you'd have to contact Maria through her myspace page about that.

Cheers, Steve.

Wow, it's a bus-ride from my house and not far from where I work. I'm there.
Would it be a good opportunity to gather business cards with an eye to sending out samples of work? This deskbound crap's going to be the end of me.

If you come along I'm sure that there'll be plenty of industry people to talk to and get ideas from but I think that most of the people actually handing out cards and exhibiting their work will be freelancers themselves.

Cheers, Steve.

Is there any age-limit on this? As soon as I mentioned monsters and make-up, my daughter was inviting herself along. Would a rather worldly-wise Nightmare Before Christmas and Harry Potter fan of 7 and a half years old be too young to bring along?
I can't access MySpace from work and don't have an account in any case, and the venue isn't contactable, otherwise I'd try and find out for myself.

I haven't seen any of the work either so I couldn't really say, but I wouldn't think it would be nightmare inducing stuff - especially if she actually likes monsters!

CustomCreations hard to know without seeing the work...........

Im in!!!

Glad to hear you got a space. Hey wait, I heard something about an entire car - is that what you're showing?!

I'll see you all there.
Cheers,
Steve.

not sure if it'll be there, but I gotta drive something.......but its not what I'll be showing as a whole. I just build and restore cars in my 'other other' spare time
I built it 100% - did everything, paint n all, including sculpting the body kit etc.
Yet to hear if there's space !
Just hope my work is up to everyone elses.......

I hope it makes it into the show. Looks great!

I started at Herts in 2001 I think, how about you?

CustomCreations hehe- the nearest I got to a gun was a bosch Heat Gun product model replica!!!
So Wilysteve- you are ex Herts too?
what year ?

left in '92/93.............Good course really.
Looks like they are still turning out quality.
That Halo suit is enough to make me want to retire already ;-)
Your work in ? Dropped off the basic stand's skeleton on sunday .

I know what you mean, that Halo suit is mean! Couldn't make it over at the weekend so I'm putting my work in on thursday pm. And I've invited the tutors to the show by the way so you might see some old faces.
