MonCal Boushh research / progress

Thanks steveo :)

I know you've been waiting patiently as long as I have ... if not longer ;) And I know how long you were working on the helmet.

I haven't even had a chance to work on the other little parts of the helmet. One of these days hopefully :eek

Your research is totaly awesome Moncal and your bandolier is beautiful (as usual :p)

Now I want to begin Boushh costume .... :p

Thanks guys. I have made a bunch of new discoveries and had hoped to start sculpting the helmet and armor by now but I've been trying to clean up some old projects that have been sitting on the bench and some other stuff too :unsure ... If all goes well I will start it after the 23rd of April after our local convention here :) We hope to have it for CIV but I am not sure if it'll work out.

Hey MonCal

I saw your pics and thought you could use this info I found these parts...

The kit is the 1/72 Tamiya PT 15 Japanese PT Boat

The same parts are used on the Buck Rogers Draconian Maurader..

Great work and love that you are sharing it with fellow builders!

Steve

wow moncal, that is exellent info, thanks for sharing!

:thumbsup

Wow! I recognized those two little rectangular pieces from that old model of Darth Vader's TIE Fighter. I even still have the model! I gotta take a picture of it. I can't believe I still even have it. :lol

This project has officially been revived!!!!!!!!!! :)

A very talented friend of mine, Jeff Herndon has begun sculpting on it.
It's in it's absolute basic, beginning stages but it's exciting to see it coming to fruition.
I'm helping oversee it and assist with the sculpting as well.

After years of off and on research I feel we are finally ready to tackle it. I didn't want to start it until I was absolutely sure we were ready and as much of the archaeological work was done ..... (finding and discovering all of the model pieces used on the costume plus a bunch of actual measurements!!) We are still missing a couple of the model ... but only a couple!! :)

I just wanted to say I'm glad you've finally gotten the time to get around to this and that I'm jealous. As you know I've been working on mine for YEARS just from pictures. I can't believe you've found most of the model parts, plus you have actual measurements - extremely jealous. Hopefully yours won't take this long. Anyway, I know you'll do an outstanding job, with your previous works and the reference photos that I haven't even seen - any chance i could get copies of them? Thought I would ask. Anyway, I can't wait to see your version as I know it will be the most accurate to date. Good luck and a speedy process. Please keep us posted.

I guess I should start saving up now? You are going to offer these, right? Any idea on a $$ yet?

Great work, thanks for showing us!

Can you post the photos you have on your wall?

Thanks,

Keith.

MonCal,

Also, wondering if you're going to make this helmet size accurate or "wearable" for people with bigger heads than Carrie Fisher.
