Molding problem

I've got a problem that hopefully some one can help me with. I was trying to make a mold and it turns out that the silicone rubber was old. When I tried to seperate the buck from the mold the mold just fell apart leaving residue (gelatenous in nature) on the buck. Question is, what to use to clean the buck to make it usable for a new mold. The buck is made from styrene and the rubber is/was silicone. Thanks for the help.

Hi,
Youcan use rubbing alcahol in some cases or you can take a brush with more silicone cytalist and work it in to the still uncured silicone that some times will cure it out so that it can be pealed off the master.

Hope this helps,

You can also take dish soap, and put it on the piece, and use a tooth brush to mix it up into the silicone. Then after there is a mess of silicone mixed dish soap in it. EWWW. Rince it off, and do it again if necessarry.
