Molding plastic for visors

    I made a kid x-wing bike helmet for my nephew. I used a piece of orange mystery plastic that had been a clipboard.

    I used a heat gun at first but it warped the plastic. I then made a mold and used the oven at low temp.
    It worked, but it became more translucent instead of clear. It is fine for a kid, but I would love to know how people make the glass parts of molded helmets.

    I wish I had more info on the type of plastic.

    ditto, I tried the same thing for my red planet helmet visor bubble and got the same results. I know im gonna have to make a visor buck, but I also don't have the money to build a vaccume form table so its gonna be a caveman project. will be watching this thread for more DIY info!! :thumbsup
