Hello, I have been tinkering with this one for a few. Got a little time so I got it ready for paint. Had to chop a lot of posts inside to get it to fit right, did some filling of ejector marks and added some details to the front array and guns. Also I didn’t like the cut outs on the bottom for the trench details so I added some science. Hoping to start paint this weekend. 4ED677B1-E82F-497E-8F62-791293270C19.jpeg 5CE85C81-74BD-40C6-9DA9-08DFCB7CE6A5.jpeg B76CB39F-AE25-4F00-A492-86E1F74E0AC0.jpeg 37D1C1B2-B0B5-4211-B98B-5BF746902CA7.jpeg 1D0C3CD2-3608-4132-B7EB-5D34C04EE5DF.jpeg 17143DFC-7A42-4E6A-96D0-03B11D77745B.jpeg 1B64FA1D-D76B-470D-B715-93B326EC7B6F.jpeg A6EF2036-2E3B-4856-B78E-03E5A42F77F7.jpeg C419A5E3-194E-4392-827F-4CCBC569CAF1.jpeg BBB68E23-1745-4F06-87F6-6C250512942D.jpeg 426BFEE8-CDA8-430F-BD31-AB3A23EBFD35.jpeg D0AE8877-E40F-464D-B3BF-B5CB0C9D21DC.jpeg DA007FF3-A8AE-4233-A7B0-FC7935155833.jpeg 7BA22F8C-9AF2-46F0-B67B-1AB92952A113.jpeg 98C8D54C-D66E-4985-BA25-BC686FC28703.jpeg 15557C85-E219-4C2C-9584-DB45B3303259.jpeg BADC3D83-B609-4B2D-8169-2B8A17EDEFBA.jpeg 2745CED6-2CBD-4304-963F-155DA5AD9A41.jpeg 0596EEFA-4F0B-4D15-B9A8-4213A5A38972.jpeg 2AA3570B-5598-4141-B97F-3E096B66A8BF.jpeg 193314DD-195B-48CE-BD8B-D7D6D009C41A.jpeg E59FFEC7-FBEF-429A-A1F3-85D9EBB4EC0A.jpeg

Off to a good start! I like the extra detail on the 'blasters' especially.
Its cool how Monogram was so true to the filmining miniatures such you can ID the donor parts used. Some simplifiction and a bit of soft molded detail, but still good fidelity.

Thanks, I’m having a lot of fun with it. I just don’t understand why the base has an image of earth on it? Lol. I will fix that in the end.

Started painting, laid black and white under a mix of tamiya neutral grey and flat white. I like it so far. Did I say this thing is huge! Going to build a bigger booth!

Ah, so did I mistakenly ID the kit as the old Monogram model?
Of course! Your title says so... duh.

Got some time today! And did the menacing stripes top and bottom. I have a bit to go yet but hey.

Very nice weathering effects. I agree with Analyzer, colors are spot on! Gonna have to consider adding this to my stash.
