Modern Joker not TDK joker

If the TDK Joker cared about his appearance, maybe he should wash his hair and just maybe launder the custom suit. Ledger's Joker was about as far away from dapper as possible. The whole movie I'm thinking 'TAKE A SHOWER'. You could almost smell him.


Oh and clown: WHOOP-WHOOP!
 
Well, I think a modern Joker that is NOT the TDK version, he wouldn't be wearing a "opera conductor" suit (which is sort of mimicked in TDK) Honestly, I think his suit would be a normal business suit, but be purple in color (I sort of pictured the kind of outfit style that Tom Cruise's character Vincent wears in the Michael Mann movie, "Collateral" (2004), but instead of gray, it's purple). Instead of being the grungy anarchist that Heath Ledger made the character, I picture a modern Joker/non-TDK Joker as being a cold-blooded killer in the same vein as a professional assassin, but a bit unstable (kind of wound up to a breaking point, like Jason Bourne from "The Bourne Identity", but instead of being an amnesiac, he becomes insane, wearing the clown makeup as the clown image was used during his programming).

actually, tdk's joker had his clothes tailored to him. with no tags. that says that he did care about what he was wearing, keeping it laundered and bathing on the other hand wasnt what he cared about.

aesthetically, it is a good looking suit. while the colors are crazy and dont match, the physical items are tailor made and do look good. imagine his suit in normal suit colors, it would look really slick. also, keep in mind how carefully he planned his schemes. i equate the time ledger spent figuring out the joker, to the time the character would be figuring out his clothing and his evil chaotic schemes, and it took him more than ample time to get his suit tailored, or tailor his own, with his own dapper grunge look.

a juggalo joker isnt a joke, its a mockery.
 
I was refering to other comments that the Joker has been traditionally styled as a dandy (i.e. dapper). That conotation implies a maticulous attention to outward appearance, which would include personal grooming.

I should be afraid of what the Joker might do to me, not worry that a homeless clown might get his funk and body lice on me.
 
Obviously there were a lot of dichotomies/hypocrisies in TDK Joker's character...his grungy appearance vs. the fact he's wearing an expensive outfit that he's obviously touchy about... the chaos he's so polemic about vs. the fact his plans are very well laid indeed...and look at the scene with Harvey by the bedside, the Joker is lying and manipulating just as much as the politicians he claims to hate. That comes back to the theme of duality as much as wayne/batman, and twoface.

all of this. and he was far from "homeless clown". i would argue he was too particular about carrying out his meticulous plans, than if his hair was washed, considering how intricately detailed they were. he had make up under his fingernails and still on his fingers from application, as it would explain he put it on, and went on to doing something that required careful planning on his part.

"dont sweat the small stuff" comes to mind. small stuff being kempt hair and fingernails, and laundered clothing, as in the bigger picture, they were meaningless in his chaotic world he wanted to create through unorganized order.
 
The Outfit I have for the Joker is a white Tux I bought at a Tuxedo Place's Warehouse sale. I got the Jacket, Pants and tie, Then I added a green shirt, a hat with a black trim and white golf gloves. The whole thing costed about 100.00. But I didn't get it all at once. I bought the main Tux then I saved up and bought the accessories when I could afford them. It's really not an expencive costume to do, If you know where to look for your clothes. You don't have to be screen accurate, The kids and adults will know who you are. just by the look.
 
First of all, we're all here to help. I get defensive about characters with a set persona, and while I commend people trying to reinterpret the character, I don't want to just sit aside and let someone do something totally out of character with the costume. I still stand by the opinion that Mr. J would never be caught in a hoodie, unless it was laundry day. Even then, he'd probably do laundry naked. If you don't like the negativity, go to cosplay.com with your idea. You're going to get mixed reactions with this concept, and honestly, most people agree that hoodies are the wrong way to go.

Again, I apologize for the negativity, but we're here for accuracy and quality. You might have a great hoodie design. Hell, I'd buy one for myself if you offered. As soon as you tell people it's a Joker costume, their enthusiasm will go away. Same thing happened with my first attempt at a Harley Quinn redesign. They sneered and walked away without saying a word.

On the other hand, he did make an ICP reference in one of the Harley Quinn comics. "Run along, now, you insane clown posse you!" While he may respect the psychopathic clown persona ICP developed, I don't think he'd promote the juggalo fashion.

There's my two cents on the ICP/Joker relationship.

Now, honestly, when I think of "Modern Joker" I think of some sort of modern style suit, or maybe he would take a hint from the 11th Doctor and couple jeans with a suit jacket and a bowtie.

In The Batman cartoon they put him in a straitjacket. Fans didn't like it and they went back to his fancy coat.
 
so UPDATE I HAVE TO GET A TOOTH PULLED AND MY INSURANCE WONT COVER IT......... SO I HAVE NO MONEY LEFT TO MAKE OR DO ANYTHING ..... BUT AS SOON AS I CAN AFFORD TO DO THIS VERSON OF THE JOKER I WILL ..... but on another note i will still be making my AA inmate shirt and maybe getting a pair of scrubs to dye orange

An Arkham inmate Joker is much better idea for a costume. I'm with the crowd that says Mr. J wouldn't be caught dead in a hoodie.

And GeektressGalore, you're right about laundry day. Only he wouldn't do it naked, he'd send Harley out to do it for him.

I was kinda thinking the pre-Harley era, but you're totally right. Unless she's out partying with Ivy. Then he'd kill his henchmen out of rage and wander around the hideout naked.

Man my Juggalo lifestyle has nothing to do with my costume my face will have the same paint as the old school joker and i know all about batman villains i have over 500 batman comics and i am working with what i have....... if i was making a Juggalo costume i wound do anything other than paint my face like J or shaggy or one of the other many Horrorcore stars that are one the psychopathic records.......
 
you were going to make a joker in a hoodie costume, you're mad at the wrong guy man, especially if you say you have that much knowledge of batman and his villains.

just trying to help.
