modelers...any ideas for this please

hey guys , im making this replica bttf delorean , need some ideas for the slim band as arrowed

for a guide to the side that whole strip with the mesh is 9mm ish wide , i have the mesh and im using 1.6mm wire for the bars , its just those small parts im struggling with

best idea i can think of is a cut up soda can :confused

dont think so no , for one its not thin enough , and it needs to form tightly to the contours

If I remember correctly, K&S metals offers thin gauge chromed flat stock.

Metal foil tape. It will be the right scale thickness and will contour as you want it to.

Is this a model or a full size replica? If full size aluminum can be bought in strips that would probably be the right size, or cut as needed.

For a model I'd use chrome tape.

Try useing the foil from a wine bottle. If it doesn't work ,at least you will be able to enjoy the wine.:lol

right ive found something...the thin metal foil dishes that pies and take aways sometimes come in

easy to cut and bend but strong enough to hold its shape
