Clay,
This is just FANTASTIC!!!!! I bet there were alot of children interested in your set up (and adults too LOL) I love the carriages and I see you put some at the castle as well :)
The boat house looks awesome and all of the touches to Hogsmeade Station really bring it to life :)
Do you have a picture of the Wander Inn? I would love to see it from the front.

Clay,
Is that Buckbeak?? This is just magical :0)
Thanks for posting the picture of the Inn. I wish I could spend a weekend there :0)

Wow. The Inn looks wonderful. The whole thing looks wonderful! Hogwarts, Hogsmeade Station, the Inn. just wow :eek

I have one question, how did you achieve the shape of the Astronomy Tower? Since its rounded on one side and flat on the other. Thanks!

Also, I can't help but wonder what this is on the castle roof. Its a greenish color. I circled it in red. It just caught my eye :lol

Gryff,
The "D" shaped tower is a piece of PVC pipe cut in half and glued to a rectangular building. The roof is half a cone with flat roof pieces glued to it.
In the photo, the creature atop Hogwarts is Norbert(a), a Norwegian Ridgeback.

Hi Clay,
I love all of the little touches you have made to your castle and station. I had never noticed Norbert before!!!! I hope all who come to see your environments take the time to look for these extras too.
I thought I remembered you saying that you where looking for owls too. Where you able to find any yet?

No, alas - no owls. I still think they would look great on the roofs of the station, but they would need to be only 1/4" tall (18" at 1/75 scale). If I'm going to do that, I'll need to make them myself and lay off coffee for a couple days before I try it.

Norberta! That is cool :) It was so tiny in the picture I saw it in I couldn't tell what it was. The small touches are amazing. If you ever find owls, you should make the Owlery to go beside the castle and put owls on that too!

Thats a clever idea to do the Astronomy Tower. What did you use to get the cone shape of the round towers?

Hand rotated poplar dowels from Home Depot held at an angle to a belt sander and then lopped off.

I also made several of the spires from seamless cardboard cones and I built a couple others from 8 identical triangular strips with their edges sanded to the correct angle - but that was very frustrating as one needs to also build a jig to hold the assembled spires (upside down) as the glue dries. That was the same way I made the large conical spire for the main cylindrical tower, but if I remember right, I made it from 10 triangular strips.

thats awesome I was wondering what material did you use and is there a way to make the castle hallow to add some miniature rooms?

Awesome work, Clay....and I like that RR museum! That GP30 and E44 (both built the same year I was born, lol!) are awesome! :thumbsup
