Modding My helmet

I'm currently working on finishing up some final touches on my custom MC Helmet. And i need help with a few things i would like to accomplish.

1. I want to really clean it up and make it look like it just got shipped from the factory. What i want to do is find some black rubber trimming to cover-up all the edges of the helmet. Much like a motorcycle helmet is. I need some trim to cover the rim of the head opening, and would like to find some smaller trim to run around the visor where its sealed to the helmet. Here are some example pics of motorcycle helmets that have what i'm after.

So if any of you have good resources of different types and sizes of trim that would be awesome. Please post any links that could help.

2. I'm attempting to make a fully self contained helmet. What I'm attempting to do is have a wireless microphone in the helmet and then have the receiver in another part of the armor. I've have an extra wireless microphone set that I bought awhile back for my video stuff.

In theory every thing should work fine. Plug the transmitter into the mic and mount that in the helmet and then mount the receiver and the amp speaker into the chest or something. But i guess the amount of electric current coming form the receiver microphone out is too low for the amp. Its just super quiet and has a small reverb thing going on. I did some research and found that I might need some type of microphone pre-amplifier.

So if any of you modders have ever successfully created a wireless microphone helmet please let me know how you did it and what products you used. If not and you know a little about electronics could you help me with any info on a small inexpensive mic preamp, or any other solutions to my current setup.

Again thanks in advance for you help.

Have you checked the dented helmet? I know a few guys that picked up this helmet insert/liner. It makes for a real hot helmet but looks real cool.
