Modding an AA Phaser question

Okay, maybe this is a noob question. I'm nearing he end of an AA TOS Phaser upgrade. Did the whole works, metal parts, new rib details, etc. Here's wha I'm stuck on and would love input from someone who has done this:

I can't being myself to plug the screw holes in the body, because I can't figure out how to keep it closed when I'm done. I'm sure the answer is "glue, you idiot" but what if I want to get inside to deal with the electronics or upgrade it someday? Do I just glue it shut AFTER I paint it and hope for the best?

Help :)

You could also mimic the method they used on the actual Hero props: use the fins to clip the rear together and then add a small strip of metal along the bottom of the front inside and move one of the screw positions there.

I would like to do this to mine. Do you have some suggestions on how to get the metal parts?

I handmade most of the parts myself. The Nozzle I purchase from a board member Dstines.
