i will take pics tomorrow and post on my facebook the boots ive done, they are not complete and at a good stage to show u. best thing is to make the boots, every part of them, resin the boots as four parts ie toes tips and heel backs. do just one coat of resin, then cut the soles off, fibre glass to make the outer shell ridged and slip shoes inside( pics on my face book explain it better)

nooooooo, dont do that, unless you are making a stactic display piece, if u put the boots on they will wear quick or you will slip and break yourself, and falling with fibreglass sections is like falling with knives all over you.

i built a clone trooper costume 4 years ago and 'slightly' sliped, the skin got caught between my thighs and ........... you can guess the rest.

Hey man! Good to see you're back building!!

For the boots try looking around for some expanding foam! Basically you have to fiberglass and reinforce the sole of the boot, then you drill a hole in it and fill it with that expanding foam to support your weight!

It's also very cheap, i found one bottle (which is way more than enough for both boots) for 4€!

hey mr Tropical thanks man hows your build going ? and yeh was thinking off expanding foam but will it not sink in to its self with the pressure ?

This is why I spend a lot of time cleaning up those parts as well as lining them with foam lol. I can imagine this resulting in stitches though o_O.

I was lucky, it could have been worst, like you both rightly said lining it is a good idea another good use for Eva foam and a hot glue gun!

I decided to wait for the V2 files because i don't really have time to do anything now,so i'm gonna wait!
However the stuff i've seen expands to 5 times the original volume, so if you drill only one hole in the sole and fill it about halfway and close the hole immediately, you'll get a pretty compressed foam and it shouldn't sink! You must be very careful to make sure that the fiberglass is thick enough to resist the expansion without deforming or cracking though!
