UPDATE: A member pointed me to the amazing MI exhibit currently open at the Museum of the Moving Picture in NY. They have one of the original Rabbit's Foot on display. This is the clearest view of this prop we've had. While I was pretty close on the overall design of my replica, there's LOTS of little details I can adjust now. AND, the inside mechanicals are pretty different that I thought. So I'm working on revamping mine to better reflect the real thing.

Meaning this is going to be a lot more accurate that I thought :) Stay tuned.

So, I have a couple people sending me amazing images of the Rabbit's Foot from the NY exhibit. DID YOU KNOW there's number dials on the top?? I didn't! ... So, I spent most of today remodelling the top (again) to capture this detail. Makes so much more sense of the shape of that top piece! It's how you unlock it!

Oh dude I would absolutely love one, but I don't fancy my chances sending it through UK customs haha. I think I'd get a knock at the door. Great work though, a really fantastic replica. I love it.

Here's a look at how the new and improved "top" of the Rabbit's Foot is coming. I have the three large dials actually turning!

Watching the movie again tonight. How did I not remember there's a blueprint of the Rabbit's Foot shown. Tried like hell to read any of the demensions, but couldn't read anything useful.

It looks amazing. Very impressed with the level of details.
We can try to contact the curator at the museum of images in NYC to get accurate dimensions.

PROTOTYPE COMPLETE:

Alright folks, I'm finally happy with all the details and engineering to make this fit nicely together. These pics are raw casts, obviously not finished pieces. But the flat gray actually gives you a pretty good sense of the forms.

Also, how about all that metal? I'm pretty please with the little tube holders and plates. Figuring out how to get as close as I could to the fittings used in the screen used prop was tricky. I think this looks great!

Also a couple pics of this new one next to my V1 for comparison.

I'm going to be adjusting a few tiny alignment issues and get this into paint and finishing. Once I post a fully finished prop I'll open this up for deposits and payments. So happy I fget to make this for some other nerds who appreciate this!

Stay tuned.
