Mini P1 build ...

First stab at gauntlet blades. Think I'll use some PVA to stiffen them up a bit. Then a plasti-dip coat with silver on top.

More mouth shaping. Trying to get the top mandibles angled more correctly.

Off with the temp fangs.

After some shaping ...

Added some blocks to extend the mandibles a tad.

Started sizing up the dreads. Started with the top and bottom layers.

Ran out of backer rod in the 3/4 thickness. Managed to start a few of the middle layer.

At this point I slice the newly shaped portions and scooted them in towards the mouth.

Filled in some gaps with some hobby filler foam. It's like a feather light spackle. It's great for filling in holes, not so great
in this application. But it should do. It dries pretty quick.

Gonna cut down the back of the jaws a tiny bit more.

Trimmed down the back of the jaws, started sanding the pink foam, and got one tooth in ...

Here the left jaw has been trimmed at the back.

I'll probably have to adjust that tooth angle cause the bottom teeth go behind. Probably should've started with those. lol

There's already a few things I'd do differently if I started over, but time is getting away. I'm in "good enough for the kiddo" style mode now.

Was supposed to have today off but ended up having to work all day. Lame.

I did manage to construct a rudimentary wrist gauntlet actuator.

Piece of poplar chopped up, crazy glue, spring, small wood screws, and a brake hardware clip I found rummaging through junk at the shop.

Just over 3.5" of travel. That'll do for her. The blades are even, but one of the tips is longer than the other. I'll have to trim that.

Footwork ...

Trimmed the green foam to shape a bit (with scissors) then cut the weird inner toe out of XPS. Claws were cut out of EVA.

I'll probably clean up the claws with the Dremel when I'm fine tuning. Once the rest of the claws are glued on I'll get to get my first taste of latexing the foam.

Finished the claws, and laid down first layer of latex. Used a cheap throwaway brush. Seemed to work well. I'm expecting to do 3 layers at least. Anyone done this before? Tips on what to expect?

I have. The foam soaks up A LOT! My first pair of feet are very very similar to this. I didn't latex though. I used plastidip. But judging from your first layer it seems to have the same effect for some reason. After around 3 layers it was good to paint.

Little shoulder cannon started!

Rummaged the shop and found this a/c dye cartridge tube in the recycling dumpster. (Yup, had to literally go in waist deep head first. lol!)
Cut EVA foam to fit and glued on with CA. Plan is to trim it with balsa wood strips and scrap to get that similar techy surface. I may trim the mount a bit to make it a tad slimmer at the neck where it meets the cannon. Also need to make sure the connection to the mount is strong so it's easier to pose.

Started the greaves. Cut from EVA. Installed neodymium magnets for closure. Heatgun to shape. They fit perfectly on her bare legs but when here body suit and boot sock thingys are on it's like 3/4 of inch short. I'll add some EVA to the widen, then add the knee portion.

I didn't think the bottom mandibles came out far enough. He was missing that yautja underbite. So sliced them off and carved out some extensions to the cheeks, then refitted the lowers. I may reshape the bottom of the cheeks/jaws.

I am definitely digging the mask. Exceptional carving in every way.

Thanks, lazybones!

I think I'm gonna do the lowers over again though. :p

Looking (staring actually) at them now, I should have extended them straight out then angled them up and in. Like this:

It's all good, technically I'm still on schedule.

Added another shim to the greaves after another test fit. So some progress.

Mocked up the blade gauntlet housing and cut out a front cover. Blades work fine.

Not sure about the overall size but I'll reserve judgement when more of the suit is put
together and she can try it on with other pieces.
