I've decided to make my son a Judge Dredd (comic version) costume, basically because he looks more like a Judge than I do.
I'll be using the helmet, belt, knee pads and badge from my Planet Replicas prototype costume (as used in the fan film Judge Minty).
Luckily I have a smaller version of the helmet which just about fits him. Everything else I'll be building. I'm not going for super high quality, but I'll need to try and compliment the PR pieces which are top notch.
I've managed to find child sized motor cross boots, leathers and gloves. I'm making the other stuff from a combination of camping mat foam, polystyrene and any junk I can find left over from other projects.
Cheap second hand leathers and boots.
Work starts on the pads, I've included the full sized Planet Replica prototype shoulder pads in the photos for reference
Green vinyl paint goes on foam okay.
A couple of quick size try ons and piece together to check scale. I don't mind that some bits like the badge are quite big.
Work on the Eagle pad, the yellow foam head and wing top is just for positional.
