MILLENNIUM FALCON 5' REPLICA

I couldn't build this if I wanted to, just way to big but you're speed and quality are amazing! However if you ever decide to do a TIE, I'd be all over that.

Having modeled every kit part on the Narcissus replica that I'm building, I can really appreciate the work you are putting into this - beautiful job.
I thought the Narcissus was a task and a half, but the 5 foot Falcon is just a daunting prospect. All credit to you - you're making it look easy!

Cheers NS4... your work on the Narcissus is truly awe inspiring. Real pioneering stuff!

Thanks...I wouldn't rule out a TIE but next up to have a go at is probably Slave 1

Also, HUGE thanks to Stu (Eagle 1) and Bjorn for their help

More progress; Port lower access pit sub-assembly. Couple of parts have been changed since finding more accurate pics and info

So this seems to be a build of 2 halves...lots of modelling, scaling, reference etc, and the practical building side. And this week I have had some time to do a bit of work on the actual falcon;

Got the Top Jaw and Gun Turret finished and the Damaged Hull section as well as the Upper Docking Arms

Also the Inner Jaw box;

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as always.

How did you determine the hull plating size, shape, etc.?

Amazing work.

I believe the plating used originally was around 1mm so I just found a load of pix from various threads and pix online and took it from there. I couldn't find any actual maps showing the layout and position of the plating/chips, but the are some pretty fine renders on the Falcon A blog

Are you cutting the panels by hand or some other means? This is fantastic!
Thanks...all by hand. I have done a lot of tiling and paving so maybe that helps with the required skillset. I tried a guillotine but really the best way for me is a metal ruler and an exacto, and of course my trusty nibbler

Cheers. so, render time again

Decided to re-do the docking ring as I wasn't that happy with the accuracy

And the area I have been dreading, and leaving til nearly last...the mighty Upper Deck. just got the beetle looking part done so far as I will print it as one piece

And also, following Sean's excellent biggest fan pun on his exhaust fans. I personalised mine too.

All the plating topside is done except around the Upper Deck. Still got all the chips to do though

Also got both Docking rings nearly finished but not fitted all the greeblies/plating around the outside
