Millenium Falcon Anti-Personnel Gun

Has anybody ever found the definitive answer on exactly where this is located on the underside of the Falcon, and has anybody ever attempted to add it to their Fine Molds or other Falcon kit?

I haven't begun my Fine Molds kit yet, even though it's been on the top shelf of my closet for almost 3 years. I've been waiting for a a good place to spread it out and begin working on it (I don't have a good table in my 1-bedroom apartment). I want to light mine and put it in a diorama, but I haven't decided on a setting either.

So, suggestions and tips on the Anti-personnel gun? Or alternative idea's for a diorama?

Thanks!

Thanks for the link TazMan! After I read your post and the link you sent, I did some more googliing and came accross the image below. If I read the link you provided correctly, then the image below would be correct also?

I think it would be close. The bad thing is that there is very little reference regarding this...but perhaps it could be a good thing too, since with the little there is, nobody could criticize the accuracy.

Who is to say the MF didn't have several of these scatters at the bottom and top of the ship? It was a smuggling vessel, right? Mind you, if it did only have one repeating blaster cannon, I think that a more practical place for it would be perhaps right under the cockpit. It could cover escapes by being closer to the boarding ramp and also have a wider field of fire.

To be the devil's advocate, that open panel in that picture could be something else. If I remember correctly, the gun had a sliding door when it emerged.

What ever you choose, good luck.

The MF displayed perched on the back of a SD may be a nice idea, but it would take a lot of work to make it look evident that it was a SD. You would have to go beyond just making an angular display base, and include more of the conning tower. Also, you would have to manufacture a landing claw, and have it strong, so that it itself could support the weight of the model on an angular display. Perhaps the Anigrand 1/72 MF would be better for this.

Whatever you decide, good luck.

Good Point, Taz. I hadn't thought of that.

The idea of displaying it perched on the back of a SD is a very unique idea and I like it, but I agree that it would be too difficult-- especially in that scale. The SD tower would have to be HUGE! It would overwhelm even a large room.

I have something more in mind with the boarding ramp open and landing lights on. Something like DB94 or Platform 327 in Cloud City, but maybe some place that isn't so "typical". Maybe even a "what if" location in the SW universe. I even bought some of those Micro-Machines Stormtroopers in case I want to model the DB94 escape.

Any suggestions on what type of gun to use for the anti-personnel gun if I decide to scratch it into the hull? I did a google search and couldn't find any pictures of the gun and I haven't dug out my DVD's to perform any screen cap's yet. Even if I did have reference pics, I wouldn't know how to identify the gun. Any help would be appreciated!

I think mounting the Falcon vertically on a large gray plaque on the wall, is a fine idea. You could articulate the plaque a little with scribed lines, plates, pipes whatever.. it would "evoke" the surface of the Star Destroyer. :cool
