Tried my hand at sculpting Hellboy. Inspired by Mike Mignola's comic book
character. I was more difficult than I imagined and I'm not satisfied how
it turned out. Anyway I thought I'd share him anyway.

Some things that went wrong and I must practice before the next sculpt.

- Paint too “heavy handed”
- Paint (this is the first time I paint my sculpture). The highlighting done in black should have been done using oil based paint. It dried too quickly when trying to rub of the excess. Leaving me with a very dark figure.
- Overworking the clay. The clay got moons and cracked when backed.
- Texturing (paint) should be done with a light brush instead of rubbing on the more fine parts of the sculpt
- Back Neck part not correctly dimensioned - too straight..

Generally I got to buy new paints and I'm thinking about an airbrush.

Anyway critics are welcome.

I like that one too - but I was trying my hand a sculpting a comic book character.

The parts I'm not completely satisfied with are the back of the neck which is too flat, should be more 'bull' like, and I think I got the color on a little heavy handed :)

..but glad you like it
