Michael Madsen, the 'Reservoir Dogs' actor who worked repeatedly with Quentin Tarantino, was found dead at his Malibu home, authorities say. He was 67.
I worked with him on an indie film here in Vegas (along with C. Thomas Howell).
Michael was very unique. His rate was $27k cash plus accommodations. He drank hard but was always ready. He didn’t mingle much. He nailed his scenes then left. One take, two if HE wanted to do it over.
He did mention he is Vincent Vega’s brother in Tarantino’s world and was supposed to be in Pulp Fiction as his character Vic Vega from Resevoir Dogs. I remember reading that, he confirmed it.
He had a great skill at being calm and subdued but fully menacing at the same time. Without raising his voice, etc., he scared the crap out of you. Rest easy, Mike.
He could present as death incarnate. Pure confidence in what he was doing and you never doubted he was going to, very casually, finish any job he started in the storyline. Great work, will be missed.
