Metal Pulse Rifle build - I know.. another one!

Thought I’d share my build since it’s almost complete.
Coming from a part of the world where getting pulse rifle parts is nigh impossible- I lucked into a spas cage which sent me on a 2 or so year hunt to acquire whatever else I could get my hands on. I quit the build several times and pursued other options but eventually picked it back up about a year ago and finally have it in a place I’m happy with.

I decided at some point late in the game after acquiring a denix Tommy gun (the lower receiver was my first big hurdle) that I wanted it all metal- I wanted the weight and that feel of an authentic Pulse and I just have a thing for non resin props.
This led to my second big hurdle. Metal Shrouds.

So after watching some other builders I went down the aluminum sand casting route to make the shrouds- with no idea of what I was doing. Which then lead me down using a lathe and mill (still no idea) once I had the shrouds happening it then to my third big hurdle- eventually fabricating the pump action/ Remington type parts for inside the spas cage (again no idea) and barrels - with welding and metal work.
There was plenty of mistakes and other compromises along the way. Headaches and road blocks.

The end result is what you see below- pump action functions, bolt functions, trigger and mag count down/ reset the ammo counter.
Upper receiver is correct, lower receiver I had to make do with the denix 1928 Tommy- which was pretty much the lynchpin that the entire metal aspect was built off.
Weighs prob too much but I can live with that.

And I had plenty of help from some of the members here- which is what’s great about this community.

I also took some creative license when painting/ weathering etc

Very nice work, I'm jealous:) I in particular like the metal shrouds. That must have been a labour of love. Please post more photos if you have them.
Cheers,
Kevin

I didn’t have access to a sander at the start... so it was many hours of fileling and sanding from the one on the top to look like the one on the bottom.
I later had access to a belt sander and it was so much easier

Good god, man!!

What an incredible thing!

So, you seriously taught yourself all the required skills to make these parts?!! That's incredibly impressive.

Love the shot of the shroud on the mill table, and the cast shrouds!

Post more progress pics if you have them, please!

I decided the other day that it's time I made myself a small backyard foundry, if for no other reason than to melt aluminum into chunks. Found a YouTube diy video, and I've been making a list of all I'll need. Any tips are appreciated!

Very cool, love the weathered look. does the digital readout count down when pressing the trigger?

Nice work!

Can’t figure out how to post a vid- so this screen shot will have to do.
Counter counts down when trigger is pulled.
When mag is removed counter reads 0

I don’t know that it’s impressive haha there was a lot of trial and error.
And a lot of screw ups. I’m
Just lucky some of them I was able to work around/ make work.
But now days with YouTube vids etc you can pretty much google anything and find an answer or watch a vid to get an idea of what to do or how to do.

looks fantastic !! do you have any shots of the remington build ?

Unfortunately I didn’t take shots of that for some reason - I think cause it was a frustrating part getting it to slide/ cock etc and I was too carried away with it at the time
