Mesh for Chewbacca suit

I am looking for mesh to make a suit for my Chewbacca costume build. I have tried fabric stores with no luck and the cheapest I have found is $5.25 a yard at www.collinscottage.com. I was hopeing to find something cheaper. I have read on other forums where guys have gotten it for like $2.00 a yard at fabric stores, but like I stated my stores don't carry it. Any help would be great, but if not then I will go with this.

A few guys built their chewie on top of a black gymnastics suit, hotglueing strands of hair to that. How much mesh would you need anyway for a suit, I mean 50% difference in price is hefty, but if you only need like 5 yards I´d rather eat that difference and have the material to start the project In my experience the really cheap in the end doesn´t have to be the cheapest solution. Or start with a stretch fabric that has the hair on it.
National Fiber Technologies.
They made the real stuff for the movies.
If not, hand sew hair runs from the Beauty Store to a leotard. DO NOT GLUE. It will not stay and you cannot brush it.
