i don't have both, but from memory, it's not too far off. not the most helpful answer, i know.

Actually, there are a lot of differences if you want to get nitpicky.
All of the details that have been machined into the body are incorrect. the knobs are incorrect. The length and diameter is much larger than the real item. I'm sure mostly due to the internal components and stability issues.
Not that you could do this with an FX, but all the original maul hero sabers were resin with only metal at the ends made up of large washers.
Either way, it's still a cool toy. I have one and I think its fun.

i wasn't really thinking of the details on the sabers, just the sizes. i don't know nearly enough about the maul hilt to even pretend to talk about accuracy.
i seem to remember the FX being within 1/2" or so of the regular MR hilt. but then again, i haven't seen them together since the FX first came out, so i could just be nuts.

i am not a perfectionist i basically am tempted to buy one but i dont want it to be way out of scale so i was just hoping for someone to post a picture of them side by side

looks pretty close to me, the diameter size of hilt is the only thing right off that pops out to me. you can see the MR is just a tad bigger round. im betting to accomodate the electrics inside.
i was lucky enough to grab a full MR maul hilt from the borders bookstore in tulsa for 100 bucks. i plan on doin the TCSS luxeon conversion to both halfs, so i can actually duel with it.
