MattyCollector "Mattel Hoverboard" discussion

That would be a bit on the sad side if we humans were capable of harnessing a power like anti-gravity and our first use for it is on novelty/amusement items like Hoverboards and such.. What about the energy capabilities that something like that would have?

If anti-gravity actually existed, it could help cure the world of our energy needs in many ways. So I would be looking into those kind of uses first..;)

Well, we would also be doing hover conversions to all our cars :p

Do you know of any way to have screen accurate hoverboards made into skateboards or electric skateboards? Goldenarmor.com looks pretty good, but the boards probably wouldn't make very good skateboards. I probably need to go with a real skate deck.

Hi guys,

I was wondering, I'm having a dilemma, what do you think is better?
The foot strap onto the foot pad
or the foot strap under the foot pad?

Here some pictures to show it to you, (not sure if i'm clear xD)

I'm quite tempted to have it under it ^^"

... what do you think is better? ...

Both versions are well. So it depends what you like more. A hint: I wouldn't use your left picture as a reference. The footpad there is original - but it's an unfinished production-made one and has been added for display. Personally, I prefer this footpad version:

Hey guys I was wondering, which strap do you like the most? Baby pink or hot dark pink for my hoverboard? Which green should be the best too? Should I make the pad darker or keep the same type of green like one of the screen used hoverbaord? ^^

Another pink with the foot pad:

I think the original colour of the strap would be somewhere inbetween the two colours you have, but the darker pink looks like a better match to me than the lighter one, as the lighter one isn't as strong in colour. But depending on the photo, I've seen pics that look similar to either one.

Or whatever Roland's answer is instead.

yeah I've been looking for one in between actually, but couldn't find any haha, this is really annoying -_-!
I think a hot pink would be great to match with this hoverboard, I can eventually try to dye the baby pink into a darker pink and see if it would work or not x)

The brighter strap is one from my Hoverboard kit sales. I know, my pink is a little bit brighter than the original straps, but it's possible that the originals just appear darker because they're old and dirty. I don't know. But what I know is: on every pics of the original board I've seen, the (original!) pink foot strap was always brighter than the pink Velcro on the same pic. And: the pink of the foot strap is not fluorescent!

Yeap I agree with you Roland, it looks brighter than the rest of the pink colours on the hoverboard.

By the way, just made a rough cut, but is it better with the darker green or not?
Or should i just put the same kind of fluorescent velco, that i have on my hoverboard? (The green one that is not on the footpad basically xD)

And that's the most important point; the colours should look correct relative to each other. Since the colours can vary from image to image, it's the best way to judge the colours. Then even if it's not technically exact to the real colours, it still looks "right" to the eye because the balance between the colours is maintained.

So what is better for your eyes then :p? (Concerning my hoverboard xD)

Maybe I could try to dye the strap with this?

I'm a bit scared it would be too bright in the end though x)

I did the "battery removal mod" within 5 minutes of turning mine on and hearing the screeching/buzzing noise that passed at Mattel for a hoverboard sound. Sounds like this mod has now been imposed upon you. I don't think you'll miss those terrible sounds that much.

You`re absolutely right, no one really needs this crappy sound, it`s just another screw up of Mattycollector on top of all the other inaccuracies and the fact that they earned so much money which bothers me. I`m glad I modded the board with Roland`s decals and strap though...
One good thing came out of the Mattycollector Hoverboard disaster, I got to know the RPF and all these amazing people here, without the RPF I`d never heard anything about the V2 Mags and possible mods, toemod of the V2`s coming up soon ;)
