Masters of the Universe Movie skeletor

Hi everyone.
I thought I'd share my first pics of my Movie skeletor display/costume. I've completed the gloves, cape, cowl and hood, and been working on the bust over the weekend. The paint work is tempory, but generally pleased with the results. Still lots to do on the rest of the costume though.
I was wondering whether anyone had any decent pictures of the armour detail? It's very hard to get a good look from the movie because of the dark colour. The chest, shoulders, belt detail, and those little plates running down the two strips hanging at the front. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Richard

:lol I´ve seen that move recenty.
I always loved it (not all of it) and had a lot of fun, watching it with my younger brother again.
I think you nailed Skeletor very good!(y)thumbsup:thumbsup
I would love to see a whole costume of him.
When I was 15, I sculpted and built a 12 inch figure of him:lol

bad ass! now skeletor does carry a sword in the film. you should be able to find images of the wax carving of the hilt online.

Whoaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

It reminds me when I was a child!!! I love this film and the Skeletor character :love

Very good work, keep it up :thumbsup

Thanks for the encouraging comments guys, much appreciated.
Thanks for the info about the sword, I have got the detailed pics of that. It seems like it's everything else that I'm having to guess at, which I don't want to do. I know that the gold skeletor costume sold on ebay a few year ago and would be over the moon if any one had any pictures of that. Managed to get pretty good pictures of the gautlet props, so will probably start on them after I've finished all the sewing. There's a lot of detail that I didn't notice before starting this.
Will keep you posted, and thanks again.

Oh YAY!!!!

MOTU was the first film I ever saw at a cinema.
I still have it on DVD :D

You could try a frame advance DVD player on the PC, that allows brightness control.
That's how I tend to do it. Takes a few goes at re-running the clip, but it usually works out OK.

Wow, that is so much better than my own Skeletor Costume!:eek
You did a really good job. :thumbsup :)

Edit:

Maybe that could help you:

Take a look to this. It´s a german cosplay. Not screen accurate, but pretty cool.

What do you say to my Skeletor?^^ But it´s not Movie Version, it´s the 200X. ;)

Great Skeletor costume, have spotted that before. Very impressive. Have seen the custom figures before but the detail have been reduced. The techniques used for the costume will certainly be of some help.
I've been through the film on pause/zoom about three times now, gathering up quite a number of sketches. Two things are really puzzling me......
1- What is the belt buckle? Keep seeing a lion, or a face. Very hard to make out.
2- Are they lions, skulls or something else on the vertical 'belts'. I think they're lions but skulls would make more sense.
Any way, will get sculpting the finger 'nails' and vertical belt plates over the weekend. Then onto the daunting gautlets and armour.
Cheers,
Richard
