Master Replicas Plaque Scratch Removal.

Hi all,

I have been recommended the RPF as the best place to ask this!

I have a Signature Edition MR Ep IV Lightsaber. Accidentally I managed to scratch the plaque in the top left corner, as below.

I know that it's small but I'm OCD about things being in perfect condition. However, I don't want to make it worse. Does anyone have experience in fixing small scratches like this, and if so, how did you do it? I was debating some wet and dry sandpaper just to polish it out, but I didn't want to risk making it worse.

Anyone have any thoughts? It's the sort of thing that most people wouldn't even notice, but as I know it's there, it's all I see.

Thanks all, and have a great Christmas,

Alex.

The MR plaques are just printed I think. You can wipe away the lettering easily. The entire plaque seems to have a clear finish and if you mess with it at all it will stick out badly.

Someone may have an idea but each time I tried to fix one it got ruined.

If anyone has any idea I would strongly get a plaque you don't care about first and try it.

Very lightly go at it with some super fine steel wool?

If you do any kind of sanding I'd make sure to seal it again with a clear coat, or you could risk that area discoloring where the bare metal is exposed.
