Master Replicas is back? (locked awaiting staff response)

Master Replicas appears to be back. There is a little info on their new website and two videos on YouTube. The first announced license is 2001: A Space Odyssey. Based on one of the YouTube videos, I assume Star Wars and Marvel products will be produced eventually. Hopefully there will be some high quality replica SW weapons produced at a reasonable price again.

I'm curious to see that hal9000. I started making one of my own but the project has been on hold (that darned speaker grill!).

I can't wait what MRG has in store for the SW license. Disney would do us all a big favor by cancelling eFX license and hand it to MRG

I wasn't aware of the SD Studios issues. Sounds like he got in over his head.

I didn't have any trouble with the MR products I ordered from when they were in business. Many of my orders were through resellers. I don't remember if MR sold directly to customers at all.

I could see preorders directly through MRG being a concern.

It's amazing and terrifying at the same time seeing how many people and collectors (especially on Facebook, but on forums too) have no idea what is going on with EFX, Steve D., Steve N. etc., and about other problems in the prop world. They are easy targets by any licensed company who might have a shady business.

There are always comming new and young collectors in the scene who have no clue whats going on.

So does this new group involve eFX members?

Re: Master Replicas is back? (locked awaiting staff response)

There have been a lot of strong feelings expressed here due to pass issues with Steve and a number of people (including Steve) have asked us what we, as the owners of the RPF are going to do about it. After giving this a few days of thought, here is our answer:

While Master Replicas Group is its own entity, it's owner and CEO was banned from this community for sales related issues. Steve claims all of those issues have now been resolved (and we are not going to referee any existing sales disputes since he is banned), but has asked that anyone who still has an unresolved issue contact him at sdstudios@aol.com. Again, I want to be very clear that we are not endorsing Steve's claim that all past issues have been resolved, nor are we going to arbitrate any ongoing disputes. We are only making this information available to the public as it was made available to us.

With regard to some of the terminology being used in this thread, please be cautious about what and how you make claims. Steve has already made direct legal threats regarding some of these comments, so know that he is watching and take it for what it is worth. Opinion is one thing. Making statements that could legally be construed as defamatory is another.

I remember dealing with Amy from back in the MR days and she was a delight (one of the best CS reps I have seen... MRG is lucky to have her). However, because of Steve's banned status, we are deactivating her account and will not allow any direct MRG representation here on the site. This is NOTHING against Amy personally, but is a matter of a conflict of interest in which a banned member is being represented and promoted here.

On a final note, while we will allow anyone to show off and talk about products they purchase from MRG, we will not allow MRG to directly participate and if we feel like someone is unduly promoting MRG or advertising for them here in the community, we will put a stop to it.

This is a complex situation and we feel this is the best approach for everyone involved.

We are going to leave this thread locked as the question "Is Master Replicas (now Master Replicas Group) back and who is running it?" has been answered. As far as future Master Replicas Group threads/posts, please refer to the "On a final note" in the previous post.
