Wow. I got the first installment of Master Chief armor made by Adam (MjolnirArmor) and a helmet by Walter (Spase).
This armor is incredible!! I've seen (and own) a lot of armor in my day... darth, stormtroopers, robocop... I have a lot of fiberglass props.. resin props.. etc.. but MY GOD this armor is incredible. It's thick, it's durable.. it's amazing.
You can definitely go trooping for days.. actually it feels like you could go trooping in this armor for years if need be..
There are videos of Spase sitting on this helmet it's that strong. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEBxz4EjEl4
Here's a video of Adam making the armor which is very fun to watch... he might have posted it here before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEBjOFLcTtA
The attention to detail that both these guys put into their armor making is also astonishing. Sure, I've seen plenty of helmets with led's and little fans inside. But rarely do I see a helmet with clear plastic trim around the base of the helmet to protect your neck from chaffing.
It's the little things like that that make this armor fantastic. Both people are great to deal with. The paint job by Adam is quite amazing. I'm working on a display for the armor as we speak.. nothing too fancy.. just an armature to hold the armor up. I'll try and get a dedicated spotlight and a metal backdrop so it'll look like it's in a weapons locker.
MjolnirArmor also provided me all the necessary accessories, the motocross undersuit - boots - turtleneck - even black sweatpants... It's a complete package... and definitely highly recommended.
Well, I'll update this thread as I go.. when I get the rest of the armor I'll post more pics. (for those who are photo experts - yes..the pics are a smidge blue.. i took these this morning on my way to work.. no time to set up studio lights or anything.. but soon... heh heh)
