Mass Effect, Turian Spaceship build

Hi !
I love the Mass Effect games and the shelf for my spaceship models is a little bit empty. So I decided to build a turian spaceship from Mass Effect 3.
I will use plasticcard for this. Lets see what comes out...

Easy start. The main body of the ship. 20cm (8'') long.

The "nose" with some details.

Will be updated soon (hopefully).

Cool choice for a ship!
Card will work i think.

You intend to make those characteristic "high poly" fillet-edges, ME style?

Thank you :)
I want to make it look like in the games. There is only the computer model of the ship and a few pictures as a reference for me. I'm still a little inexperienced with plastic card, but the turian ship has very straight lines, so it should not be too difficult.

I have seen the pictures from the official model that you can buy. But I dont like it because it is so bulky.
I want to make it better and more the "ME style" ;)

Smal update. The main body is complete. Next part will be the engines and the side-shield-thing.

Thanks :) Now you can see some more of the final shape and the final lenght. Made some mistakes and had to cut some parts.
The engines are nearly done, a big step forward.

How thick is the plastic you use, and how do you cut it so cleanly? I might be interested in trying to build this myself as a fun sideproject and it's quite easy to build because it isn't as round as the other ME ships. :)

I'm using 0.75mm styrene for the main part. The details of the ship's hull are made of 0.30mm styrene. So there are always two or three layers of plastic, depending on whether both sides have details. Actually, I just use a regular hobby knife and a ruler. No special technique.
It was also my thought that it is easy to build because it has such clean lines. Perfect for plastic card.

Interesting, might have a go at it once I'm done with my bachelorpaper.

How big will your ship be? And how do you think you're gonna paint it?

The ship is 29 centimeter (11,5'') long. I think I will paint it with acryl paint and with a normal paintbrush. I have no airbrushthing... eventually I will buy one, but for now, I have to use a paintbrush. But first, lets build this little bosh'tet.

I would be happy to see someone else building this ship. For comparison, and because I think it is a very nice model.

Thank you :) ... The painting should work, Im well practiced in painting models the old style, with water and a brush :p

Bottom-pic :cool With primer - black spraypaint and a little bit white spraypaint.

I will make more pictures, when its painted.
